PERSONALITY

DESCRIPTION:
Lexi is a girl that, despite a crippling past, likes to make the most out of her life. She's almost always upbeat and enjoys looking towards the positive outlooks. It never does her good to look at the negative in any situation, and she finds that she greatly enjoys being able to forget about the past and anything bad that's been happening. This has been sort of a defense and coping mechanism for her over the years, yet it's become more than a mechanism, as she's adopted it into her personality in result of her constant need for optimism.

She genuinely enjoys the company of others though. One of the things that gets her in trouble is that she constantly tries to see or find the good in others - even if it doesn't exist. Easy to forgive, she doesn't know the meaning of holding grudges and doesn't seem fazed by the bad things that have happened to her. She's helpful and open about what she's thinking or doing, yet she can at times feel awkward about her true feelings.

She can be a tad bit forgetful, as she usually has so much on her mind and focuses mostly on that. This can cause her to easily lose track of the time or the direction she's going in, and thus she finds herself lost much of the time.

Lexi has high moral standards though, and dislikes dishonesty or most bad actions others commit. Her own family standing has shaped her morals for the better and she normally has to constantly be honest with others as a result. It's hard for her to keep a secret or lie to people.

And yet, ironically, she's holding a secret of her own.

History:
Lexi was born as the last child of a lower class family on the scummy streets of Midgar - far beneath the plate that signified wealthy people. She grew up in the first part of her life yearning to see the sky. Her dream was to be able to fly away from her life. While her innocence as a child sheltered her, it didn't take long for her to realize that her family was bad. They were thieves, her father part of a gang that would do terrible things. Her brothers - both older than her - started picking pockets and doing petty thievery from a very early age. While she knew, Lexi even in her early years hated what they were. She was ashamed of both her family, and what others thought of her because of it.

At the age of eight years old, Lexi was plucked out of that family by child services and given to her grandma in Bone Village. Her grandma was neither a happy woman, nor a loving one. While she was able to be clean, her grandma was a severely poor woman and they didn't have any extra money for luxury items. Lexi grew up with that same grandma. Even though she felt no real affection for the woman, she worked hard to try and make her life easier. For the first time ever, she also started attending school. While she was outgoing, Lexi was crippled by her cast in life. Most kids avoided her because they knew who she was and what her family was like. Yet she did have one friend - a young girl her same age. Lexi loved going to her friends house, where she was treated almost as an adopted child and even given a few things.

Lexi excelled in school and it was quick to see that her eagerness to learn was rewarded with great grades. It was during that time as well that she realized she had a knack for building. She thought, despite the bad things that happened, life would be okay. From afar, she had a large crush on a boy a grade higher. When she was fifteen however, her family returned. Her grandmother had died and they had been given her house. In trouble in Midgar, they came to Bone Village to lay low for some time.

Once there, however, it wasn't hard to realize they could make plenty off of the archeologists that dug around the village. While she didn't want to do it, she was forced to learn how to handle a firearm and was brought into their plans of thievery. And so it happened. She did a few bad things, regretting it each time, until finally the law forces finally tracked them down. But again, they vanished - only this time, Lexi was taken with. There she would stay, until she became eighteen.

When she was eighteen, the family once more returned to Bone Village. Yet she ran away. Lexi hid in what was now the city of Edge and for a time worked hard to scrounge up enough money to make something of herself. Working as a waitress didn't really pay off much, but as she was used to living on practically nothing, she could save all she made. All the while, she worked with her hands and dreamed of a job in ShinRa - inventing and researching things.

Lately, she's made that dream a reality, but she stays carefully hidden from her family and they life they created for themselves.
