Post by THE HEART OF ETRO on Jan 4, 2014 9:57:29 GMT -5
"When the war of the beasts brings about the world's end The goddess descends from the sky Wings of light and dark spread afar She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting..." Only three worlds may have worshiped the goddess Etro, but all felt the effects of her death.
With the defeat of Caius Ballad at the hands of Noel Kreiss, and the resulting destruction of Etro's Heart of Chaos, time and death became nonentities. Not only did it affect the worlds of Gran Pulse, Cocoon, and Valhalla, the lands of the living and the dead both plagued by Chaos, but other worlds that Etro watched over also felt the effects all the same in the form of their own natural disasters and the consistent spread of the Chaos through the shattered pieces of chaos. When Etro died, death and life became as if nothing. At that time, the chaos that had been held back in the different realm had nothing to contain it.
Two goddesses rose in place of Etro, two from different worlds, but both equally as powerful in their desire to stop the chaos. Cosmos and Minerva have come together to combat the darkness, but even they cannot fully accomplish what Etro had. Chaos still spreads to different worlds, infecting many. These goddesses look out for each of the different worlds now. When they see a necessity, they will transport people from safer worlds and place them in those infected to combat it as they do. This leads to the appearances of different people in worlds you would not expect. When deemed worthy, the goddesses will give people the ability to ask them personally to transport them wherever they wish to go - only after a service.
Realizing that the goddesses have started such a thing, villains are quick to copy. Instead of attempting to fix the chaos, they strive to cause it to become more prominent. They desire, even lust for the chaos to consume the planets and feed off the darkness that is spreading. They have been known to transport different villains to the planets to stir up the chaos and cause it to spread further and faster.
When the chaos spread, a small part of that chaos was transferred to each person to be held within their bodies. Indeed, chaos has become a part of each person after the death of Etro and the stopping of time. At random it will become activated in each person, changing them. The result is a huge rush of strange power they hadn't possessed before. The price of such a granting of power though, is to become a l'cie, cursed with a focus they need to carry out within a specific time limit before they're crystallized forever. Yet, are the gods less cruel toward that punishment this time?
How will this connection with chaos effect the world and those that reside within?
