"To become the dew that quenches the land..."
Few could paint a lovelier picture. Flames lapped across the tops of the tents without having lost control as of yet, and the crimson SOLDIER, if no one else, could appreciate the way they traced their way across the contours as he watched from the convenience of a ledge above the camp, a familiar book tucked under one arm and his favored blade in the other.
"...To spare the sands, the seas, the skies..."
The line was not inaccurate - the sands, the seas, and the skies would be the only parts of the landscape spared, should the fire continue to spread. If the way it raged was any indication, no one would slow the destruction anytime soon.
"...I offer thee this silent sacrifice."
Finally, Genesis Rhapsodos smirked. The screams of the corrupt, ambition-driven soldiers in the camp beneath him broke through the crackling of the flames as they scurried to attend to the fire and recover their supplies before they were consumed. Still others barked orders to these soldiers, demanding that the situation be rectified as quickly as possible. My, how the composure of men, even those who felt completely in control, faltered in the sight of the slightest of unexpected circumstances. And how loud they became. "...or perhaps not so silent," Genesis added to himself, shaking his head slightly, as he turned to begin descending the incline. As much as he appreciated the scene, he did have some business to attend to. Genesis Rhapsodos did not burn occupancies down without reason anymore, after all. He had been gifted with purpose again, and he would see that purpose through to its end, whether by flame, by sword, or whatever means necessary. The panicked soldiers below could only hope that Genesis did not have to restort to whatever means. The one the ex-SOLDIER loved above all else would be...disappointed if they tested the patience of her herald.
In the ruckus brought on by the fire, even Genesis could be overlooked. He strode into the edge of camp silently and confidently, taking a moment to tuck the book into his coat neatly before the first of the soldiers noticed the man in the trenchcoat among them and dropped all he was doing to fetch the rifle from off of his shoulder. Genesis squinted at the man momentarily in curiosity, and he would not have been surprised if the man fired before taking the time to read into the situation. Ultimately, though, the weapon was only pointed in Genesis' direction threateningly. "Put the sword down and state your business!", the man demanded. These soldiers must have specialized in demands. The ex-SOLDIER provided a nearly-silent sigh before he responded. "I hate to request an audience on such short notice, but I desire to speak with your commanding officer," he told the man, calm in contrast to the all that went on around him and as if people made these same requests every day. The man obviously did not agree with the arrangement. "Who are you?"
Well, he had the question that many would ask, did he not? Many would wish to know what brought a most eccentric figure such as Genesis into their presence. Genesis smiled lightly, peering up at the flames around him appreciative before he turned his eyes back to the soldier. "The healer of worlds," he stated, simply, before the man decided to fire and, after a single sidestep, Genesis launched a fire spell with a flick of his wrist and sent the man writhing to the ground. More soldiers in the area immediately responded, gathering to form firing lines to the crimson swordman's front and rear flanks. Genesis again merely smiled subtly, closing his eyes for a moment and looking to the skies. "Most loved Minerva, give me wings to fly."
