Nine wiped off blood from the side of his mouth with distaste. It wasn't that it hurt, of course it had hurt but his pride had been hurt more so than his body. "Mother" had left them and they were now assigned a new instructor. Kurasame, a cold man, took over. The way the guy just walked right in ticked Nine off to no end. How dare he walk in as if nothing happened? How could he think he could just simply win them over? They had all been with "Mother" for so long. Now, here they were, with a total stranger. Being the sort of person that he was, Nine had been the first to express his dislike for the man. Of course, Kurasame didn't like that and swatted him aside as if the young dragoon had been nothing more than a mere fly. Oh, how it had angered him! Nine got up, not learning when to stop, and charged the man only to achieve the same result yet again. It had gotten to a point where Cater and Ace had to step in for him and defend him. Honestly, Nine didn't think he needed their help. He was an excellent fighter by himself. Of course, that was the pride in him talking.
"That bastard!" Nine growled under his breath.
His blue eyes were narrowed as he glared in the direction of their cold instructor. This surely won't be the last time he would try to attack the instructor or express his dislike for the man. Nine wasn't one for learning harsh lessons like that anyway. In fact, most complicated things tended to go over his head without his notice. They were allowed a moment to chat while the instructor had left the room for a break. Looking around at his classmates, his family, Nine simply crossed his legs as he propped his feet on the desk in front of him, leaning back in his chair. The look on his face was clearly livid so no one bothered him. Cater and Ace, he could sense were watching him. Nine casually glanced over at them, his expression unchanged. They shared the same expression on their own faces. Kurasame had to go! That's all there was to it!
When class was over, Nine was glad to be out of the room. Nine wasn't the most brilliant when it came down to it. In fact, the only thing he really knew was fighting. Fighting, he excelled in, especially with the Spear. Longinus, his weapon, was what Nine specialized in and he was proud of his skills. Unfortunately, when it came to the books, Nine often struggled. There were some things he knew but studying wasn't his strong point. Queen often teased him about how stupid he was. Where it angered him, Nine didn't take it to heart. He didn't hold a grudge for long unless you were Kurasame or someone that had severely wronged him.
Walking out in the halls, Nine didn't give a damn about who he pushed past as he went. Hearing all the protests, Nine just dismissed them with a "Yeah, yeah! Whatever!"
Then, he paused dead in his tracks. There was Emina in all her magnificent glory...with her glorious globes! 'Oh man, why did she have ta go with that jerk?' Nine thought resentfully. He had confessed his feelings for Emina, being one of the many male students that had developed a crush on the young instructor, but she had put him down saying that she already had a boyfriend. Nine wasn't sure who the guy was but whoever they were, they were his public enemy number one! Okay, maybe that was going too far but Nine knew that once he ever figured out who she was going out with that he'd hate him for it. Frowning, Nine went in the other direction and exited the building out into the school's grounds. There, he found some sort of commotion taking place.
"What the 'ell is this?!" Nine exclaimed, making his way over.
There were four boys from Class 7 and...was that...Deuce? And Seven? Furrowing his brows Nine looked between them and Class 7. It looked a lot like they were causing the girls problems. Nine was no genius but he was able to gather that much from all this. Slowly, he turned to face the boys from Class 7. "Ya mess with my classmates, ya mess with me!" he stated. It was the manly thing to do too, defending the girls. If these boys were looking for a fight, Nine was more than ready for them! As if to exemplify this, Nine raised his arms and held them over his shoulders as he summoned Longinus. A smirk appeared then on his scarred face. This was his element! Resting his arms on either side of his Spear, Nine took on a casual, cocky stance.
Nine was known to be a brawler in the school. In fact, he was widely known as one of the school's toughest guys around. With such a rough reputation, it wasn't surprising to him when the boys backed down looking worried. Apologizing like the cowards that thy were, the boys tucked their tails in and ran.
"FEH! Not even worth my time!" Nine scoffed at their retreat. Bringing the Spear to rest next to him, Nine then looked back over at the two girls who were thanking him. "Eh, it was nothin'!" he stated with a shrug. After all, they all stood up for each other whenever someone that wasn't a classmate gave any of them problems. They were family, after all. Sure, maybe not by blood but they were all family. Arecia had taken them all in.
"See ya, ladies!" Nine stated, giving them a bit of a salute before he walked off to do who knows what.
