Kain Audition

Never his salvation....

Kain was merely amused by this answer, but moved, no. He shook his head at Edge as he then advanced in on him. He jumped him letting the lance trip him up and the other end cracking his chin. This however would be his first and his last hits. Kain doubled back around to face the King of Elban, bringing his lance up to block most of the ninjas swings with his katana. And that would be his slip up, letting Edge get close enough to start getting in swings at close range. Kain heard the katana meeting with the lance in quick strokes. He was starting to have a hard time keeping up. Edge’s blade slid down the lance’s length as Kain moved his arms in an upward fashion to try and push him back. Kain however did not see what had exactly happened, all he knew was that he had not moved quickly enough to avoid it.

Kain felt the blade move past his armour and undershirt, and finally rested about six inches through his bare flesh.Yet Kain made no signal that he had just been stabbed in his bread basket until his lance dropped to the ground and bounced out of his reach. He stumbled backward as Skeiron tried to advance again. “No!” He said with still yet firm voice, though he felt that the booming echo had hurt his chest, the dragon stopped none the less. Now getting light headed his back hit the ground with a thud, knocking the wind out of his lungs. Six inches of a thick steel blade, would make a man bleed out if it was not tended to in a timely manner. Kain pressed a hand to his wound even through the armor, his eyes starting to water. Though he was not sure if they were tears of pain or finally tears of a sweet release that he had been awaiting. And here they were, Edge clearly coming here to do the job, under what weight was on his shoulders, Kain had no clue at all. The coldness was starting to take its effect, a shiver going up his spine. He had never felt anything like it in his miserable life, he had managed to pull off his helmet so he could breath a bit better, if that was possible. He felt as if his lungs were about to collapse, letting in short gasps, his chest heaving.

It was then that Skeiron shot a line of fire in between the Ninja and the Dragoon. If he was not allowed to attack the man before him, the least he could was separate them to avoid more damage to the Baron Knight, for now anyways. Skeiron then moved to the side with the hurt Dragoon, and curled itself around him, just daring anyone to come near. He started to blink his eyes rapidly, darkness taking him under.

Kain adjusted his eyes to the lights that were around him. He shielded his eyes from what he now knew to be the sun. Upon hearing his name being called he turned around only to see a small child running at him. His brow arched as the child clung to his legs. But something inside him told him to pick the small boy up into his arms, and he did so. The boy was beaming with laughter, Kain could not help but smile at this. Something was odd about this dream, or his own version of an afterlife. It was then that he noticed a woman standing mere yards behind the boy. But the sun was brighter than he had ever seen it before, and he could not get a clear look at her. Kain looked back to the child he was holding, only then did he hear a word come from his mouth that he had not expected, Daddy.

The sweat rolling off of Kain’s forehead was moved when he shot up from his lying position. The fire then caught his attention, and then the wound that he had acquired caught his attention even more. Both hands immediately going to his right side. It seemed to be dark outside now, as Kain looked down to his torso, it seemed to have been bandaged, but it still hurt none the less. Kain could barely even move, he let out a sigh as he laid back again.
