Spying missions were always so wonderful! It was an opportunity for him to get away from the office for days or weeks or months on end. He could possibly be doing work but most likely he would be using the time as an extended vacation. There was a time when he was shipped off to Wutai years before the war against them took place. He was supposed to be doing surveillance on the country and noting their powers and military strength. He was gone for three weeks and two and a half weeks of that was spent drinking the town’s liquor. He also slept around; or rather, he tried to but the women at Wutai back then were far to proper and uptight to really get into the whole idea of one-night stands. It was a shame really since he had never been with a Wutai woman at that point before.
So when Tseng had given him the assignment that he would be going on another such mission; Reno was a little more than delighted with the idea. When they had discovered new worlds, ShinRa was obviously very interested in knowing what kind of powers or technology was available in those worlds. So Reno was given the assignment to find out such information- to find the superpower of each world and bring back whatever technological advances that would benefit ShinRa. He had a mind set on trying the liquor and the women as well and would have done so if he had been given free reign. Unfortunately he wasn’t given the assignment alone. He was partnered up with another Turk: Madison.
He liked Madison to a degree. She had no qualms about removing obstacles with a quick pull of the trigger. She was an efficient Turk in that regard; but he also knew she was a cold hearted bitch who didn’t like to slack off as much with him. If he had been with Rude, he could at least make Rude fall into his games from time to time; rather than actually be strictly mission the entire time; Madison was a whole other thing all together. He hardly ever worked with her; really. She was one of the few that he worked with only on a handful of occasions through the years. He always had Rude to cover his back, and recently, Elena.
So being shipped off on an extended mission with someone you weren’t completely sure had your back or not (but you knew they would because Turks always had each other’s backs) didn’t make for the most fun of times. Part of the mission involved fitting in with the locals and that meant disguises; which in this case, resulted in rags that were considered clothing. He supposed the vest he was wearing for a top was ideal for the immense heat of the day, and the baggy pants helped to hide weapons that he had stashed, but he still thought the style was out of taste for men. For women’s fashion in Rabanastre, he had absolutely no qualms with. Everyone was showing off the midriff and a lot even wore skirts along with it. Needless to say, he had plenty of eye candy to keep himself happy. Even his partner in crime was a delicious distraction if he couldn’t find someone else to stare at. It was a shame she always looked perpetually pissed at him whenever he stared at her for far too long.
Right now they were seated outside of the Sand Sea which was the city’s hottest bar location or something. He assumed it was a bar only because it served liquor. He wasn’t sure what the liquor was made out of but he didn’t care either. He was happy to have something that tasted sort of like a beer on a scorching hot day, even if it was piss warm. Despite the new getup, he had his goggles still. No one looked at him funny for having them and they worked awesome when he wore them to cut back the glare of the sun and to keep the sand out of his eyes was a breeze kicked up the sand that was all over the city. Oh right, the city was surrounded by a desert; which was such an awesome idea in of itself.
”Been here, what? A week? More?” It could have been two days. The place sucked enough that it made everything seem so much longer or maybe it was simply because he couldn’t have as much fun as he normally would on missions like these. ”So we haven’t been able to sneak into… what is it? The castle? Heh, never thought I’d see my career as a Turk be getting me in a real castle, yo. Anyways, we ain’t gotten jack shit done on this mission yet.” He raised his drink to his lips and took a gulp. Mmmm… piss warm. ”And I’m starting to hear people mention some other nation, Archades or something. I’m thinking that might be a place worth looking into. This place seems pretty lame.” Lame because he hadn’t been able to sneak away to experiment with the local harlots. There was the added fact that Archades, from his understanding, was also a place far away. They didn’t even have means of travel for vast differences. There were airships but that required fare they couldn’t afford. They had taking out a local bounty to get some finances for the world. He was currently drinking his share.

This place was hot but she liked warm places rather than cold ones; it just wasn't a fun, warm place. Rabanastre was a complete culture shock to the woman since it was nothing like what she was used to. This whole world was nothing she was used to with it's odd mixture of technology and old world customs Madison wasn't getting used to. The only thing she could get used to was this delicious dry heat since it was doing wonders for her skin. She had gotten a lovely tan in the week she was in this city and her skin felt so soft and smooth. Granted, she had to spend the nights moisturizing and she had to drink a whole lot more water than she ever wanted to but her skin looked so radiant.
When she returned back to Gaia, there were going to several women jealous of her since she looked so flawless and youthful at the moment and more than likely Elena would be one of them.
Would that make their relationship even worse?
For a moment, Madison crossed her arms and frowned as she thought of the young blonde. Her little sister was such a headache to care for from time to time. This was natural, however, since competition was something encouraged in their household and even amongst Turks. Everyone wanted to be at the top; they all wanted considered Legendary Turks.
This mission would get her some extra points to the legendary ranking since they weren't just spying on some foreign country, but they were spying on a whole planet! Madison and Reno had managed to go to a new world and they were gathering information about everything! This world had two real super powers even though there seemed to be more than just two kingdoms: Rabanastre and Archades. They were in the former country at the moment learning about the royal family and how things worked in this world.
For instance, nobody used materia but they all studied and brought licenses to learn magic; how silly and strange was that! To learn a high power spell they had to buy more things so this place was like a merchant's paradise. There were more peddlers in this city than in all the slums!
And to add some more weirdness, this planet had different races. Most seemed to be some manner of beast mixed with humanoid bringing her to the conclusion that the evolutionary path all lead back to humans but the branches existed because someone a long time ago was no better than Reno about the whole sexing something with a hole; or, there were a lot of kinky human women? The blonde was leaning towards this planet's ancestors to be like Reno when he got too drunk.
Speaking of him...
"Been here, what? A week? More?"
"I guess so," she said as her blue eyes shifted on the man. It was weird seeing him in something other than a suit. It was even weirder to wear something that wasn't a suit; her stomach was showing for Minerva's sake! Her eyes slowly shifted down at her scandalous outfit that seemed to be the trend in this world.
Reno went on about the castle and how they hadn't gone into the place yet. It hadn't crossed her mind at the moment because she was doing her job of gathering information. Who knew what the redhead was doing during the several times they split up during the day. More than likely, he was trying to bed the girls of different races after getting hammered so he could tell stories to Rude when they returned.
Thank the Goddess he wasn't telling her about banging a Bangaa.
Banging a Bangaa...
She snickered at her own inside joke before coming her hand through hair. She supposed the male ahd a good point; what better way to know more about this country than to go to the top place. If this were Gaia, they would sneak into the enemy's headquarters to steal items and information. There was a problem with this plan.
"Things in this world aren't exactly the same. I don't think we're actually the best locals. We might be able to sneak in and out, but if this were home, we would sneak in and blend it... or sneak in and kill everyone. I don't know if killing this nation's royal family would accomplish anything for ShinRa."
She shrugged to herself, not particularly sure what they would do in a castle but act like common thieves. There was no grand item awaiting their castle looking to be stole by the couple. There was not much of anything in the country that really would have ShinRa looking to pilfer.
Archades might be different but it was far and travel was supposed to be difficult. This place was weird and she wasn't even sure what difficult entailed. Something told her she didn't want to find out.
"Do you have plans on how to get there? Please don't say highjack and airship. There's no telling how much things differ technology wise."

Madison, he had to begrudgingly admit, had a point. Breaking into the castle had very little for them to gain as they didn’t know what was inside. He was mainly curious over anything else about what was inside the castle. He heard there was a princess who was human and he was half tempted to try his charms out on her because what better ego trip would there be than to bed a princess of all things? There was also the fact that they couldn’t be sure if there was some hot item or device for them to jack and bring back home too. Honestly, it was all a big wasted time to be in Rabanastre but he supposed when they entered the world they didn’t know what to do. They had ended up in the desert and they happened upon Rabanastre before they ended up dying of dehydration. Walking in a desert in a full suit was not the best times he’s had. In fact, he was going to say it was one of the worst experiences because it was also gusty which kicked sand up into all sorts of uncomfortable places after awhile.
The only thing the sun seemed to do was make his partner look absolutely sex-able with her healthy tan. Much like a beach babe that had been lounging out at Costa Del Sol for days on end. He didn’t tan as dark as she had, he had gotten somewhat tanned but his cheeks had seemed to have suffered from a slight sun burn. Fortunately it wasn’t super noticeable and most of the time, after a few drinks, his face would be flushed anyway. It just gave him the illusion of always been slightly buzzed everywhere he went.
Rabanastre was a bust, but he assumed Archades would be a little bit better since it seemed to be more of a superpower than the hellhole they currently were in. ”Do you have plans on how to get there? Please don’t say highjack an airship. There’s no telling how much things differ technology wise.” Honestly, she needed to have more faith in his abilities. He wasn’t considered to be one of the top Turks for his looks alone.
”Don’t be stupid. Of course I wouldn’t plan that.” He had. ”I wouldn’t know the direction to point the ship if I simply highjacked an airship. I would kidnap a pilot too. Duh.” Ha, that would work perfectly. He took a drink from his glass and smirked, ”I was thinking good ol’ fashion stowaways, yo. How hard could it be to sneak on one of those huge airships and stay out of sight?” He had actually taken the time to scout the ‘Aerodome’ as the city called it to see what sort of security was around the place. Honestly, there was no metal detectors or security line that one would need to go through. By the looks of things, people simply walked up to a counter, bought a ticket for the place they needed to get to, and then walked onto the vessel. There was generally one person stationed on the pathway that led to the ship. He couldn’t’ speak for whether something else happened while one got onto the ship, but he doubted it was anything extreme. The city seemed pretty laxed on security. He supposed they were more concerned with keeping people out of the castle.
”We ain’t got enough money to get on the honest way regardless. Not unless you want to try and go after another bounty.” He for one, was lazy.

He belittled her, not that Madison cared. Her blue eyes stared at him intensely for a moment; he was lying to her. It was part of her job to detect bullshit so there was a good chance he realized that stealing an airship would be a stupid idea the moment she mentioned it. The woman sighed as she messed with her hair again.
Reno was such an idiot.
He was skilled with that lightning rod of his and he could come up with some pretty deviant plans on the fly but overall he was an idiot. Her whole world was full of idiots, and this world was probably the same way. Stupid people thrived pretty easily.
”We could go sneaking about and attempt to stay out of the way and kill anyone who saw us. It wouldn’t be hard at all,” the woman commented coldly. Murdering random in this world didn’t bother her one bit. In all honesty, she was surprised they weren’t doing weird things like kidnapping random beings of this world for someone like Hojo to cut up and play God with. He was such a weird man but most people in that department were weird; science made people so quirky.
However, why spend time committing crimes that could later come back and be used against them? Madison wasn’t scared of any knight or whatever authoritative figure that was supposed to keep the peace in this world. If worse came pass (and it usually did), they could kill a lot of people rather fast before disappearing back to their world, technically. Honestly, appearing here felt a bit random since there were reports that it was possible to go to another world and the two mannered to make it to this world but their one really understood how they ended her or how they were getting back.
”But we could just buy a ticket. This world is rather simple in its happiness to take gil.”
The man pointed out they didn’t have enough money. ”And yet we somehow found money to get you alcohol. Cash isn’t impossible to come by,” she replied coolly. He was being a lazy bastard. In this world, it was actually pretty simple for someone with skill to get money since they had things like bounty hunter jobs. ”Let’s pretend to be honest people, kill someone or something, collect money, and travel to that other city. Besides, killing things might be good practice. I don’t think I’ve seen you kill anything since we first arrived and some desert wyrm appeared.” Their arrival to this world was full of misfortune but Madison usually had no luck.
Her luck was even worst whenever she dealt with Reno and she wasn’t sure how that was possible.
The woman pulled out a sheet of paper from her bra like shirt and placed it on the table for him to read. It was a bounty for some pirate who was supposed to be holding secrets against the royal family. The people in this world would pay a hefty some and he was supposed to be hidden in this city too since his ship was being confiscated.
”Let’s fine him, beat him unconscious, deliver the body, get the money, let you drink, then leave this city and let you drink in the new place?”
