Post by NOCTIS LUCIS CAELUM on Jan 4, 2014 17:34:16 GMT -5
Noctis leaned over in his throne. Resting his chin upon his fist, he seemed to be deep in thought with one leg crossed over the other. Unlike his usual crystalline blue coloring of his irises, they were a golden coloring. It wasn't always clear what emotion this color stood for but Noctis's eyes tended to change coloring in tandem with his emotions at the time. Right now, he was thoughtful and worried. After all, the enemy was just right outside their kingdom's borders. Once again, Nifleheim and Tenebrae were giving the Lucis kingdom trouble. This time, however, they appeared to be working together. How the two managed to form a truce, Noctis couldn't be sure. It had to be the fact both kingdoms were greedy for the crystal. At this thought, Noctis had let out a soft, inaudible sigh. As a prince, it wasn't easy to be in his position.
'This was only inevitable...' Noctis thought. So long as that crystal existed, the only known crystal, there probably would never be any peace in this world. However, Noctis couldn't just simply back down and hand it over. It was his family's birthright to protect the only existing crystal in their world. It had such great and terrible power that if it were to fall into the wrong hands, the result could be disastrous. Endowed with the powers of the crystal, Noctis still had yet to fully harness the power he had been given. Almost always, his guardians were telling him to let them fight in his stead. Of course, being shy and caring a lot for his friends, it made things awkward for Noctis. He couldn't just simply allow them to get hurt or killed for his sake. Just because he was a prince didn't mean his life was more important than their own. Unfortunately, his lack of control with his powers made it difficult for him to take care of himself sometimes. Noctis had a terrible habit of doing something reckless and getting himself into trouble. His friends often reminded him of this very fact.
Footsteps were heard, shattering Noctis's thoughts as he looked up. It had been one of the new recruits. Some guy by the name of Mattheau who had come into the throne room. Sitting straight again, Noctis looked at him as he tried to ascertain what it was that the new recruit could be coming before him about. Giving Noctis a polite bow and solute, the new recruit spoke.
"Prince Noctis, there is someone here to see you. They request an audience with you, if you are not too busy. They say it's urgent."
Noctis furrowed his brow as he stood up. What could anyone want with him anyway? If it had been any of his guardians, even Matt would know who they were. After a moment of silence, Noctis simply nodded, keeping on that unreadable mask of his that he always hid behind. Of course, figuratively speaking. It was what helped him put on a face that someone shy, like him, could use to face a number of people. Initially, one person in his presence didn't bother him but he still always put on a "cool" mask. His friends, on the other hand, knew better. Although it bothered Noctis that they knew him so well, in the sense of modesty rather than annoyance, it had been the truth. Noctis was timid, never really dealing with anyone much outside of just his father and he. Noctis's mother had died some time ago and it had been down to just the two of them...and Cor. Cor had been Noctis's first guardian. Then, Noctis encountered Gladiolus who had family already that protected Noctis's. The two had been like brothers. Then, shortly after, Prompto and Ignis came and now, here they all were.
"Tell them that I'll be there in a short moment."
Noctis gave the soldier a mere nod as Mattheau took it as his being dismissed. With another bow, the soldier had left to deliver the message. Stepping down from the throne, Noctis was glad to be free of the darn thing! 'We need to find cushions for that! I keep going numb! Noctis thought unpleasantly, stretching a little and doing his best to get the feeling back in his rump region. Curious of who could want to see him, Noctis headed out of the throne room and walked down the long hallway. In the distance, he could see the soldier and the person that most likely wished to speak with him. Since Noctis had never really seen the woman's face before, he had no idea that right now he was walking right into a trap. However, the sight of the long, straight blond hair made him cautious for some reason. As he got closer, Noctis took pause when the woman looked directly over at him. The gaze was cold and unfriendly. Furrowing his brow again, Noctis remained where he was.
"What do you want?"
The woman said nothing before shoving the soldier aside and pulling at a lance. In one, quick, fluid motion she was upon him. Luckily, Noctis had been ready for her as a symbol appeared somewhat behind him when he extended his arm. In his hand appeared Noctis's Falchion taking on the form of his usual sword, although it could transform as he wished it to be. A change took over Noctis in his appearance. His normally smoky black hair suddenly turned a light tint of blue and his eyes turned crimson red. This was the crystal's power that Noctis had been endowed with and this woman had no clue what she had just woken up and what she was dealing with.

I would let Stella do this approval, but she might get a tad excited.
