HAIR LENGTH, STYLE AND COLOR: Sandy blonde in color, composed of straight, almost spiky, locks. He wears a slight ponytail wrapped in a ribbon that hangs to the nape of his neck.
ACCESSORIES: RIBBON: Ribbon cuts fire, ice, lightening, and holy damage in half. It also absorbs water and wind attacks. Zidane acquired his ribbon from the Treno Auction House.
ATTIRE: Zidane has a tendency to dress elaborately, as one can see in his outfit. He wears a teal vest with a white sleeveless shirt underneath where a tuft of fabric erupts at the neck. He also dons gray gloves with enormous blue cuffs which have silver buttons clasping them together. His pants are blue with clunky boots and several brown belts are wrapped about his waist.
OTHER: He has a tail of a monkey, which is strong and steadfast, even able to carry his weight and let him hang from almost any object.

PERSONALITY

DESCRIPTION: Zidane has always been called the “noble thief”. The description fits him well, due to the fact that though the monkey boy enjoys stealing, he has a strong set of morals. Zidane is the kind of guy who does what’s right, even if it means sacrificing everything.

Zidane is optimistic. He smiles through almost anything and also spreads his glee to others. If someone is down around him he quickly tries to cheer them up. If someone is trying to sort something out, Zidane is quick to lend his own thoughts on the matter. In fact, in most situations, Zidane is the one to stand strong and help his friends do so as well. Very little can bring Zidane down.

However, Zidane isn’t an all-around nice guy. He’s a liar and a thief. He would rob you blind, with a smile on his cheery face, and still help the guy hurt beside you. He’s a fabulous liar. From years being honed into a thief and a thespian (as his “family” also likes to act out plays) Zidane could lie about anything. He could tell you the world is ending tomorrow with every detail and you’d probably believe it.

Our noble thief is also a ladies’ man. He blindly chases any skirt he can find and is usually very suave. He respects women… but it just doesn’t seem that way when he hits on them constantly. He’s certainly not looking for love, but he is on the lookout for any girl with a pretty face. He’ll hit on them with such determination that that you would think he actually valued them. But the thing is Zidane moves on fast, but never without a proper gentlemanly goodbye. He may be a skirt chaser, but he is a gentleman!

If there is one thing Zidane values over all else… it’s keeping his promises. He would never break a promise and will follow it through to its end. Being a (somewhat) honest guy, he will never lie to those he calls friends unless it was better that way. A promise to Zidane is just that: a promise.

RELATIONSHIPS AND HISTORY

MARITAL STATUS: Single
FAMILY: Zidane has no real family in the biological sense. He could, perhaps, count his “siblings” on Terra—the other Genomes, though they lack souls. He also has a “brother” and “sister” that are Genomes with souls named Kuja and Makoto. However, due to his lack of time with either (and Kuja’s blatant attempts to kill him), Zidane doesn’t consider either his real family.

Zidane’s “real family” is the band of thieves known as Tantalus. His adoptive father named Baku runs the shady group while Zidane and his supposed brothers are the ones who do the dirty work. Zidane considers this to be his real family. His siblings are Blank, Cinna, and Marcus, along with his sister Ruby.

FRIENDS: Vivi, Eiko, Freya, Amarant, Steiner, Beatrix, Quina.
LOVE INTEREST: Garnet Til Alexnadros XVII / Dagger

History: Zidane was created on Terra, a dying planet that thrived on assimilating other worlds. Zidane’s purpose was to harvest souls for the other Genomes on Terra and so Terra could remain alive. However, Zidane was not the first Angel of Death.

Garland created Kuja first, but found him to be imperfect and reckless. He concluded Kuja did not have the appropriate complex emotions to do his job justice and figured Kuja lacked the emotions earned while growing up. Thus, Garland crafted Zidane as a child and made him the perfect Angel of Death.

Yet, the moment Kuja found out about Zidane’s purpose he quickly dumped him onto Gaia. Zidane grew up oblivious to his alien conception and went on to surround himself with friends and family.

Zidane was found by Baku, who eagerly brought him up with other orphans to create Tantalus. Zidane thrived in his family and grew up learning the tricks of the trade. All of this would be necessary for his upcoming adventure.

Once Zidane was 16 their biggest heist yet would emerge: kidnap Princess Garnet of Alexandria. While they would pull it off, their journey would become much more intricate than that. Zidane would go on to save the world from the threat of Kuja.

Zidane collected many friends on his infamous journey: Vivi, who would become a brother to him, Eiko, Amarant, Steiner, Freya, Quina, and Princess Garnet (who became Queen over the course of their journey). He helped them sort out their problems and they helped him. Together they went on to save Gaia from the impending Mist. All the while Zidane was falling for the Queen.

Their last battle, after many others, took them to the Lifa Tree and then Memoria, a place constructed from memories. Here Garland guided Zidane through the strange castle and into the Crystal realm. They fought Kuja, whom seemingly wiped them out with a single attack, and so the estranged vessel also killed the crystal. Thus, Necron descended upon the group for a final battle in the fight for Gaia. Once Zidane and his friends defeated the monster, Kuja teleported them out of Memoria into safety.

Garnet and the rest of his friends were going to go home with him, but Zidane insisted they go. He stayed behind with Kuja so that he wouldn’t die alone. It was a long time before Zidane returned to Garnet. He appeared onstage at her favorite play, “I Want to be Your Canary” and declared, “Bring my Garnet to me!”

Since then he has lived in peace… until he discovered the presence of other worlds...

WEAPONS, ABILITIES AND MAGIC

WEAPON(S): MAGE MASHERS: Zidane wields daggers in most forms and practices (and rarely so a thief sword), but Mage Mashers tend to be his favorite. They have jagged edges and a pink, almost salmon, colored blade. Each has a tassel of beads on the end. While in Trance, Zidane can combine the daggers and make them a wicked thief sword, capable of taking more damage, but being slower in attacks.
ABILITIES: TRANCE: Trance is activated when Zidane is overwhelmed with emotions, most often during battle. He will become completely pink with fur replacing his clothes. Trance allows Zidane to access an extremely powerful ability, while simultaneously raising his attack and defense.

• Meo Twister: A small tornado bombards an enemy and takes several hits at once. Only hits a signal target and is a rather weak ability, especially against mages.
• Tidal Flame: A wall of flame crashes into several enemies at once.
• Free Energy: Streaks of non-elemental energy slams into a single enemy.
• Solution 9: A blanket of energy coats several enemies and takes a great deal of damage.
• Grand Lethal: Bright lights trail to an enemy as several explosions occur over the enemy. A powerful attack, though only used in Trance.

STRENGTHS: Zidane is extremely adept at aerial attacks, melee, and defense.
WEAKNESSES: He’s weak against most mages or magic in general.
MAGIC: None.
