Caress the one Reaching, searching for something untouched. Hearing voices of the never-fading calling There was no way she could combat this herself.
Minerva hated to admit that, even to herself. She was currently busy trying to simply keep Gaia from falling apart - she wouldn't be able to go to different worlds on a whim and save them and think that her world would survive without her. Already chaos was attempting to spread within the lifestream, leaving her with nearly a constant battle to stave off the corruption. On top of that, she had realized that Jenova had managed to be completely reborn using the spreading chaos. Minerva couldn't stay away from Gaia for long - it was her first priority and her planet - but she also couldn't ignore that the rest of the realms were in desperate need of assistance. The death of Etro had been felt heavily by Minerva, but she hadn't been able to do anything about before now. Still, the situation could not be ignored any longer. She had to leave Gaia in the capable hands of some of the warriors she had guided to beat Sephiroth and other various threats in the life previous.
But to journey to the realm of Etro's previous resting and judging, Minerva would take a champion with her. It was easy to pick who that champion would be. Genesis Rhapsodos knew of the trials that were befalling not only Gaia, but also the other realms - she had allowed him to see it last time they had met. He would accompany her. With a nod, she solidified that, before she disappeared from where she had been standing looking down on Edge - something she seemed to be doing a lot of recently. Edge was far from the only city of importance on Gaia, but it seemed the most likely to have bad things happen to it. If Edge fell, a large part of Gaia would be lost, and Minerva was well aware of it. To keep that from happening, she kept a sharp watch on the city.
She reappeared in the exact location Genesis was, noting momentarily that he had picked being on top of the mountain somewhat near her location, beside a shrine that had once been built in praise to her. With long, purposeful strides, the goddess ascended toward the figure that she had come to recognize well. "Genesis, faithful warrior of the goddess.", she stated in both greeting and commanding. Without taking time to really give him time to adjust to her presence - and to not waste time - Minerva rested her gloved hand on his forearm. Unless getting ready for battle, the goddess stayed out of her large armor, and appeared in her normal clothing. "I showed you the state of the realms last time we met, yet I did not tell you of what needs to be done."
There was no time to waste in explaining. "Hold your breath.", she warned before lifting her face to the heavens. With her hand still on his forearm - a tighter grip there now - the goddess closed her eyes and moments later both she and her warrior were being transported from Gaia to the location Etro had been, watching out over each of the different galaxies and planets. Mere seconds later, they appeared in the place of Etro. Valhalla. Once they had materialized, Minerva retracted her hand from off his forearm and glanced at him again. "Come, Genesis. There is much to be done." Minerva had been here before, but it had been many aeons ago, in a different time. But she felt another presence here, yet it was closer to where the Throne of Etro rested. One she had not felt or known about. Eyebrows knit together in weariness, a hand rested on the hilt of her blade that was secured on her hips. Who was here? And how had they gotten here?

He need only wait.
The goddess had promised that nothing would forestall his return, and so Genesis had taken to the solitude of the mountain to wait for her in her place of worship. His wandering had ended, and he had purpose again, though he did not fully understand what she asked of him. The goddess' visit to him on the road had been...brief and her explanations vague, but Genesis did not need any encouragement beyond what she had granted him to assure him that his waiting to serve her would not be in vain. And so he lived as the monks that had once inhabited this shrine may have lived - alone, living off of what nature had to offer, and medidating on the many facets of the goddess who had given his life potential purpose again. She would not be shaken from his mind nor did he want to forget her beauty, her words, or her grace. He need not wander nor destroy in an attempt to please her and secure her favor should his life end yet again. He was loved by the goddess, and knowing that he was loved meant that his search had ended. When she did return, to take him from this place of serenity, his service would begin.
He stood staring from the open doors of the sanctuary out at the expansive beauty of the mountains when she appeared to him again. Genesis felt the wind wash over him and witnessed the dazzling flash of light at the base of the stairs. Though he had already been smiling, in a constant state of contentment and pleasure knowing what awaited him, a wide, almost uncharacteristically enthusiastic grin stretched across his features at the sight of her - her form, her eyes, her lips - as she ascended the stairs towards him. There he stood waiting, dipping low into a bow as she reached him. He knew what she wanted, as she placed her hand on his arm and filled his body with a warmth he had come to view as the very essence of life. She had spoken to him of the dangers lurking in the distant universe, and of how those dangers threatened the thin threads that held together time and space in Gaia and all worlds that existed in the great expanse that went beyond Genesis' capacity to see. She had said she would return when she needed him at her side to fight the battles that would soon reach the edges of the Lifestream...and now she was here before him, reminding him of what she had told him. Gazing on her, he nodded slightly. "So the time has come," he said, simply, almost unnervingly calm as she asked that he hold his breath. He did so at the very last second, though his eyes remained rooted on her as he felt the air around him snap and change, the cool, refreshing breeze of the mountain giving way to unnatural, heavy humidity at all sides.
Though he was content to look on her, Genesis bore his green eyes away from her features long enough to take in the surroundings. He saw a throne - beautiful, adorned like that of a king or queen - surrounded on all sides by buildings of common architecture but unique design. The almost seemed distorted, as if from a dream. And in the distance, a shoreline stretched as far as the eye could see. But Genesis could not fully appreciate the view from where he stood, nor could he spend time admiring the divine being who stood before him - figures stood nearby, male and female, the male covered from head to toe in fearsome blue armor.
Genesis did not need a reason to draw his rapier on the armored figure, and as soon as the man turned to regard Genesis and his precious goddess, the former had blade in one hand and a fire spell in the other - one aimed for the throat and one for the man's sword hand. But the man in the blue armor matched Genesis nearly step for step in his reaction, and Genesis found himself staring down the length of a sword and deterred by a shield as the man stared threateningly from behind both of them. "Cosmos, stay back." A small smirk formed on Genesis' face as he chanced a small glance over the armored man's horned helm and at the woman behind him, whom he was undoubtedly defending at this moment. "My friend, the fates are cruel," Genesis stated, simply. "And should you remain in the path of the goddess Minerva, I will show you exactly how cruel they can be."

“It is all an endless dream. Yet still... The fantasy must come to an end...”
Coming to this place had by no means been an easy task, and attempting to control the chaos that spread from this bizarre world between worlds proved to be much more difficult than the goddess had initially expected. Of course she hadn’t thought this would be an easy task, only a fool would have thought taking over for another goddess would be as simple as taking a deep breath, but this… this was almost too much to handle by herself. Although to outsiders it might have looked like Cosmos was merely sitting on a throne, daydreaming about something, the goddess was hard at work in her attempts to control the chaos that still spilled from this place, even now. A weary sigh escaped her lips as she opened her eyes slowly, offering the warrior that had accompanied her here a weak smile. She tried to stay positive, mostly for his sake, but it was getting hard to ignore the effects this realm had on her. Chaos ruled here, and Cosmos represented order, harmony… her very existence clashed with the nature of this realm, and the air around her almost felt like it was trying to drain the life out of her, seeing her as its biggest threat. But that was exactly why she was here, was she not? If anyone could banish the chaos that spread from here, it had to be the goddess that had fought it for centuries now. Who else had more experience with it than she did? Even still, she felt her strength draining rapidly. Although she might be able to put a stop to the flow of chaos, a fear gripped her that she wouldn’t be able to banish the chaos from the other realms it had already infected. It was too great a task for any one being, even if that being happened to be divine.
“How are you feeling, Warrior?” she asked him gently, her smile growing ever so slightly as she rose to her feet without stumbling. Being here was taking its toll on her, but she imagined Warrior had to be feeling the effects of chaos as well. As much as she would’ve liked to though, she couldn’t teleport him away to a safer place. He was needed here. If any of the monsters from before struck again, or heaven forbid, Chaos or his minions tried to attack her here, she would need all the help she could get. For now, the only thing she could do for him was talk to him, hoping it would ease his mind.
Her smile faded some when she sensed a presence… one she did not recognize. Though she felt no immediate danger from that presence, it was too distant to fully identify straight away, “Someone’s coming…” she informed him quickly, lest he be caught by surprise. Cosmos wondered who the presence could possibly belong to. Valhalla was not easily accessible, only those with the powers of a god or goddess would be able to come here. Though she hoped for the best, the goddess had to fear the worst. She had to assume Chaos himself had found out about what she was doing here and had come to oppose her now that she was vulnerable. If he had, that would be a disaster. Where the chaos weakened her, it would only strengthen him. The Warrior of Light was strong, and he would no doubt attempt to defend her, but was he powerful enough to oppose a god? All by himself? As she waited for the arrival of whoever had decided to come here, Cosmos nervously held her breath. If it really was Chaos, what could she do? She couldn’t win here, but fleeing was no option either. Chaos would use this place to further his plans, and with an actual god controlling the flow of chaos, it would do that much more damage. Irreparable damage, perhaps.
Slowly but surely, the energy she’d felt was given form, and before she knew it, two unfamiliar figures appeared nearby. Though Cosmos let out a small sigh of relief, both because her biggest fear turned out to be unfounded, as well as sensing that these people would not pose a threat to them, Warrior seemed to take no chances with their safety, and acted before she could utter a word. “Stay your blade, Warrior,” she called quickly, before the two men broke out into a fight. With slow, even steps she approached her warrior and placed a reassuring hand on his arm, “There is no need for violence.” Her eyes flickered over to the other man, who seemed as eager to protect and serve as her own warrior was. “Rest assured that we are not your enemy, the Goddess you serve is in no danger from us,” hoping that her words eased the man’s heart, she politely dipped her head forward in a bow towards the other woman. “Greetings, goddess Minerva, I am Cosmos, goddess of order and harmony. And this man is my most noble warrior. Please do not be alarmed by our presence, as I sense our goals might be the same,” rather than go into detail straight away, she remained silent for the time being, allowing the goddess and her warrior to calm down and state their business here. Hopefully, this goddess shared her desire to put a stop to the flow of chaos. Hopefully, they could combat it together, for she couldn’t do it alone. Either way, she felt she had little to fear from this Minerva.
