I'll stop the whole world I'LL STOP THE WHOLE WORLD Lightning was meant to meet Serah here. Wherever here was, she guessed it was nice enough for their little picnic. They had a lot to catch up on, after all, and appeasing Serah's wished was probably the best way to go about things. She had messed up their relationship enough in the past, resisting the girl more didn't seem like the right way to mend things. She looked around at the surroundings, secure enough or at least she knew they were both capable enough to deal. There was a small river, it was incredibly blue, she still had a hard time believing Gran Pulse could be this...nice. After all the stories she grew up around about the place, she shook her head of the thoughts. It had all been propaganda after all. She knew that even before meeting Fang and Vanille. She hoped Serah hadn't mean for her to bring anything but the bit of cloth for them to sit on.
It took her a few moments to find a place flat enough, and dry enough, to toss the cloth on the ground with ease. It had been a while since she had spent time with Serah, just the two of them. So much had happened, so much she regretted. She had never meant to push the girl away, but she also had never been the most sociable of people. She wouldn't blame her sister for hating her. She knew she would, had the roles been reversed. That was the difference between the two of them. A bitter laugh slipped from her lips before she cleared the thoughts from her mind. It wouldn't do well to go into this little meeting with a negative attitude.
Lightning stood again, slipping off her shoes and setting them down next to the cloth and walking to the waters edge and touching the water with her foot. It wasn't unbearably cold, so she waded in to her ankles slowly, watching the water curiously. There didn't seem to be much in this area of the river, or more likely she scared the wildlife when she entered the water. A few quiet breaths. Maybe today would not be as bad as she thought. tag: Serah notes: Short post is short outfit: Here From turning into a monster And eating us alive Don't you ever wonder how we survived.

“If it's too much to deal with, face it later."
So much had happened, at times it was hard to grasp that everything they’d been through had been real, rather than some bizarre dream they’d shared. But it was real. Lightning had disappeared in order to become to guardian of Etro, Snow had left to go search for her and he’d gotten trapped in a timeless place, and Serah had actually time travelled with a boy from the future. And that journey… that journey had lead to her death. A chill ran down her spine as she quietly walked through the thick woods of Pulse to the place she’d agreed to meet with Lightning. You’d think she would’ve been used to scary experiences after becoming trapped in crystal, but death had been even more intimidating. She’d been lost, lost along with all those other souls who hadn’t known what hit them. Although she hadn’t been completely alone, that’s how she’d felt throughout the entire ordeal. Alone and scared. And she had to admit there were times when she wondered if she wasn’t still dead, if this peaceful existence she lived through now was just some sort of wish she’d never managed to fulfill playing out. A dying wish that some benevolent god allowed her to experience before she faded completely. But when she stopped to think about it, she knew that wasn’t the case. This was real. She was alive, and back where she belonged. Those feelings would fade away with time, it was only natural that she felt this way after everything that had happened. In time she would be able to move past these trauma’s, and she wouldn’t have to do it alone. All her loved ones were here for her, they’d help her as she’d help them. A peaceful smile found its way back to her face despite the somewhat grim thoughts playing through her mind. Today wasn’t the day to focus on things of the past, it was time to look towards the future.
Some people declared her mad for meeting her sister all the way out here when there was a perfectly nice village to hang out in instead. They could’ve sat in the Nora House, they could’ve walked along the shoreline, they could’ve even set up their picnic on the outskirts of New Bodhum, but Serah had purposely chosen a place far away from other people. Even though their relationship wasn’t perfect, Serah still knew Lightning well enough to know that her sister didn’t enjoy having too many people around her. The older Farron appreciated her peace and quiet, and if Serah was perfectly honest, so did she. Of course she didn’t mind being around people too much, but she also enjoyed her silence from time to time. Sometimes, she too needed to get away from all the ruckus and take a breath to collect herself once again. They might’ve differed in several ways, but they also shared a number of personality quirks. As she walked, she briefly glanced into the basket she’d brought. Hopefully Lightning still liked the same food that she had back when they’d last lived together on Cocoon. That had been a long time ago though, so it could’ve changed… still, any food had to be good food, and she was sure her sister would appreciate the gesture even if her preferences had changed overtime.
It didn’t take her too long to get to the place they’d agreed to meet. Back when she’d first started living here, she hadn’t had the stamina to handle Pulse’s rough terrain for long walks, but her journey with Noel had made her a lot stronger. She could handle it with relative ease by now, and she couldn’t help but feel a little proud of that. Serah might still not have been a complete bad ass like Snow or Lightning, but she was at least strong enough to handle herself now. Back in the day one of them would’ve had to take her to this spot because she wouldn’t have been able to handle fighting the monsters off herself, but that had changed as well. They could let her walk around without freaking out now. The pinkette smirked when she spotted her sister through the trees, and silently approached the cloth to set the food down next to it before wandering over to the edge of the water. “Lightning,” she called loud enough to alert her big sister to her presence, but not loud enough to alert any beasts that might be stalking about. “How’s the water?”

I'll stop the whole world I'LL STOP THE WHOLE WORLD It was quiet, much quieter than just a few short days prior when she last saw Snow. He had a tendency to fill the air with idle noise, even when he wasn't actually speaking. Lightning still wasn't the fondest of Snow, she still didn't think he was good enough for her little sister, but she'd come to respect him even if only a little. He knew how to handle himself when things got serious. Of course she still rarely agreed with the decisions he made but she knew she could at least trust him to keep Serah safe. Not that the girl wasn't capable of it herself, though the idea still threw her for a loop. She couldn't fathom the girl being able to handle herself in a fight, but she knew she could. Even if she didn't necessarily agree with Serah's choice in a fiance, she knew the oaf made her happy, and that he would do anything to keep her that way.
Lightning couldn't help but smile at the soft footsteps of Serah arriving. Despite their time apart she could still recognize it was her without looking. "It's nice, warmer than it was in Bodhum." Which was actually quite warm, for an ocean. This was only a shallow part of the river. She was sure the temperature wasn't quite as warm further in. She turned to face the girl moments later. As much as she missed when things were calm, and normal, she couldn't say honestly that she missed Bodhum. It held too many memories for her, reminded her of too many short comings. Because of her own stubbornness, she almost lost her sister. She kept pushing the girl away and burying herself in her work with the Guardian Corps. If there was anything she regretted she did regret that most.
She was glad to be out here, glad to see her sister again away from the hustle and bustle of Academia. She really did like the place, but she never did well in crowds, and that only got worse after the whole L'Cie business. "I'm glad we got to do this. As much as I like the others...it's been so long since it's been just the two of us." She said. It had been a while since she had even seen a lot of them. The person she'd really spent the most time with had been Hope, sort of, but since the events on Nova Chrysalia she hadn't really seen much of him. Or anyone for that matter. She'd seen all of them in passing, but everyone seemed like they had things to do. A purpose. She had neither.
"What did you bring?" She asked, curious as to what was on the menu. It had been a while since she'd eaten anything that could really be considered good. Rations and game animals on the run as L'cie. There had been nothing, or no need for anything in Valhalla and it had been pretty quick things she could snag in passing on Nova. All in all she missed Serah's treats. She hoped things could settle down again. She hoped that she could find something to keep her busy, a job or something to help pass the time. That her friends could finally be the family she saw them as. She cared about all of them so much, and it was hard to watch them all struggle. To watch them even die, like Serah had. The thought still made her sick through her stomach, that she was essentially the cause of her sister's death. tag: Serah notes: ^^ outfit: Here From turning into a monster And eating us alive Don't you ever wonder how we survived.
