Ahh, what Warrior would not give to be lost in a sea of memories.
What he would not give to be lost in any memory. The way it had been explained to him by Prishe and Shantotto, when people stood still and shut their mind from all the chaos around them, they became lost in a sea of memories that recalled the good and bad of their pasts in moving pictures of the mind. These memories took almost no effort to recall - they would simply be present in the mind and move to the forefront when they were needed. Warrior would consider such memories needed, given how he stood here now in such anxiety and anticipation, desiring them to finally surface and ensure him that there was something to his existence beyond flesh and blood. The memories never appeared, though, even as he stared blankly throughout the expanse of Order's Sanctuary, a bastion of peace and harmony where the mind could not be jarred from thought.
While he could think, making him at least realize that he did exist in some state besides flesh and blood, Warrior could not...remember. He did not understand the process of memory. Well...he supposed in some way, he understood it. He remembered Prishe and Shantotto telling him how to remember. He remembered the fight with Prishe, her effort in naming him the Warrior of Light, and all the rest that had happened to him ever since he had...started remembering. They did not feel like memories, though - at least not in the way Prishe and Shantotto had described them. They were too recent, and too attached to...something just outside of Warrior's mental grasp - something only Cosmos understood and controlled. None of these memories belonged to Warrior himself, but to something bigger than him. How could he claim them as his link to what "people" felt, then?
Warrior sighed to himself and let his straight posture falter. He was wasting time by standing here idly, when there were battles to be fought in Cosmos' name. If he did not have memory as others experienced, he had purpose as given to him by the goddess of harmony when she granted him her power as one of her warriors. Perhaps his only purpose and reason for existing beyond flesh and blood was as a warrior - Prishe herself had provided him the name "Warrior of Light," the only name he'd ever known. He supposed he had a name, too, if no memories.... Ah, well, again, Warrior was gaining nothing by simply standing here idly. Shaking his head to himself, he turned and started walking back in the direction of Cosmos' throne, a familiarly squeaky voice calling out to him from a distance as he did so.
"Do you feel better now!?"
Warrior let a small smile trail across his lips as his footsteps made soft splashes in the ever-present film of water covering the Sanctuary and nodded. Feeling - he could feel as well, and he felt joy to hear the voice of his friend as she called to him. He supposed memories would come in time - he need only worry about the here and now. "Yes, I suppose I do."
