Zidane Tribal had a thought hit the front of his mind as he gazed around at the architecture of this place that they called Valhalla - they sure had some crazy carpenters here at some point...or they'd had too much to drink, maybe.
Anyone who made buildings with weird swirly parts like the one directly above Zidane had to have something wrong with them. The thing went right up into the sky like the big spires of the castle in Alexandria, but it wasn't attached to any other buildings. Actually, it looked kind of like it could fall over at any time, it was so unsecure. The thought made Zidane lose his balance a little bit and step back, even if he was on pretty flat ground. After catching himself and making sure no one had seen him stumble a little with a quick glance around, he shook his head and went back to staring up. The part that threw him the most was the top of the building, where there was these green, swirly things that looked like really bad artwork at the top. Now why would someone go and make some crazy thing like that and put it on top of a perfectly good building... And it wasn't just this building with the swirly thing, but a bunch of buildings all over the city had green swirly pieces on the top of them. The kind of hot goddess woman who had brought him here to help her with a task had said that they had "advanced technology" in this place and it might be confusing, but if technology was advancing to this kind of architecture, Zidane was just fine with Gaia never advancing ever.
Zidane knew, as he finally gave up trying to figure out the building and crossed his arms over his chest to pace around for a little while, that he should have probably been more confused about what was going on right now. He'd been on the run from a couple of the tin cans back at the castle in Alexandra to keep himself entertained before Dagger woke up, and just the second he'd gotten ready to make a leap to freedom and pose in victory at his escape, zap, he'd been gone and all of a sudden there was this woman in a dress talking to him. About a year ago, Zidane would have thought he was probably having some really nice dream, and if he got a chance, he'd make a pass at the lady sometime before the dream was over to see how lucky he could get before it was all over and he woke up. But nowadays...getting zapped to some other place entirely and having a hot lady in a tight dress tell him that she needed him to help restore order and harmony because he'd always been the kind of guy to help people didn't actually...er, it was still really, really strange, but Zidane could kind of go with the flow now. And the woman had told him he'd be back home in time to catch Dagger waking up, so...Zidane was up for a little heroism before breakfast, sure. There had been plenty of questions he wanted to ask - like how she had found him, how she knew about Dagger, and were goddesses really as hot as they were in paintings and statues, like she was - but he hadn't really gotten the confusion out of his head long enough to get the questions right.
And all that action had led to Zidane being here, just...walking around and waiting for the woman to give him a cue to do something or other. He'd been so intent to look at her curves when he'd first shown up and hadn't known what she wanted that he'd kind of missed a little of what she'd said in her long explanation, but Zidane thought she'd said that they were waiting for some "entity of Chaos" to spawn in another world so they could track it down and stop it before it wreaked havok on innocent people. Zidane hadn't...known what to do with himself while he'd waited, so his first idea had been to wander off kind of aimlessly as she stayed nearby at "Etro's throne" to wait for the monster to show up. Now he'd gotten bored looking around and had wandered back almost to the throne, the woman a few dozen feet away from him looking distant. He figured she was probably watching for that Chaos monster. Zidane sighed almost silently in impatience and clasped his hands behind his head, stopping his pacing just long enough to look to the woman again and appreciate just how nice the rear view looked while she was turned around in the other direction...
...And he noticed something, in the middle of admiring her. When he appreciated the rear view of Dagger - and it didn't get any better than that view of her - he never really had to question whether or not she had legs coming down from her butt or if her butt was just...floating there. As Zidane looked at this Cosmos lady, though, and what with her dress and the way she just kind of...floated around gracefully and he couldn't notice any legs moving around anywhere, he had to wonder if she did have legs somewhere down there, because they sure weren't obvious. He also wondered if they were nice, shapely legs or...really, she could have any kind of legs under there. He raised his eyebrows as he thought about it and, on the spur of the moment, decided to walk over and say something about it. Approaching quietly, he kept his hands clasped behind his head until he spoke. "Miss Goddess lady...", he began, carefully. "You're not too busy with your monster search to answer a question, are you?"

Tagged : Zidane | Words : 585 | Notes : Template steal Muahahaha It had begun. The goddess had always felt that the cycles, the endless struggle between chaos and harmony, would start to change someday. She’d always felt that one day, she wouldn’t be able to contain the fight in the scattered realms of Dissidia, no, one day, it would spread outwards into the worlds she’d so desperately sought to protect. It seemed that day had finally come. With the death of the goddess Etro, the very essence of chaos had spilled out into the unsuspecting world of Pulse, but it hadn’t stopped there. It had moved on through the cracks of time and space in order to infect other worlds as well, and Cosmos hadn’t really had a choice but to come to Valhalla when one of her warriors informed her of what had taken place there. She had battled chaos all her life, organized cycles of warriors to fight against such evils for as long as she could remember. Who else but her could take up Etro’s throne and attempt to battle the forces of chaos? After all, this wasn’t so different from what she usually did. It was exactly like the cycles she’d endured through for countless years, the only difference was the stage.
The goddess remained completely silent as she used her power to gaze into other worlds. Though she wasn’t certain where the entity of chaos’s destruction would spawn next, she would sense it the second it morphed into existence. And she’d be ready for it as she always was. With the aid of her noble warrior Zidane, who had agreed to assist her in such a swift and laid back manner that she hadn’t been sure he was actually paying attention to what she was telling him, they could track and destroy the beast before it did any harm. A faint smile made its way onto her face when she tuned in back on the world of Valhalla for a split second. Zidane was here with her, awaiting orders and wandering around while she tried to focus on the matter at hand. But… she could tell something was bothering him. Of course she wouldn’t approach him about it now, whatever was troubling him, she wanted him to figure it out for himself if at all possible. Doing things and learning things about yourself rather than being told about them by someone else was infinitely more useful to figuring oneself out. It was a tactic Cosmos had used in the past, and she found it to be an excellent method. Just offer some helpful words here and there and then send them on their way to try and find their answers themselves.
A soft giggle escaped her when Zidane finally approached her and asked her if she was busy, too busy to answer a question. Of course what she was doing was important, but ultimately, she didn’t actually have to look at any of the other worlds in order to pinpoint the monster’s location. Chaos… didn’t react well to her, possibly because she herself was the very essence of order and harmony. The two clashed violently, and made it so that Cosmos could almost feel it, sense it. “I am not,” she replied softly and turned to face him with a serene smile. It was a serious task they were going to undertake, but ultimately Cosmos believed in the light. They’d get this done as they always did. There was no need to make Zidane worry. “What is it you wish to know?”

Tagged : Cosmos | Words : 420 | Notes : Short, but does its job. Zidane could have sworn he heard the goddess lady giggling as he stepped up behind her. It was a good thing that she apparently had a sense of humor, since this whole arrangement wouldn't be working too well if she was more of the, uh, witchy type. He had to wonder if all goddesses tended to laugh at things or just her. Oh well, that question was another one he could ask sometime before he helped take down this Chaos monster, because judging by how he'd been walking around aimlessly for an hour waiting for her to give him a signal, there was a pretty decent amount of time for small talk.
She seemed perfectly fine with him asking her a question, too. He stopped staring at her butt when she started swinging around, kind of disappointed he lost his point of reference for the question but deciding that the front view wasn't all that bad, either, because she really did have one seriously pretty face and...area below the face. He appreciated mostly her face for a few seconds so she wouldn't get suspicious (or maybe angry), trying to think up how to word the question. There was beating around the bush like Steiner, or there was just asking her and assuming she'd be pretty okay with it. Finally, he just decided to be direct, because he was way too curious to risk losing a decent answer. Narrowing his eyes thoughtfully, he pointed down at the bottom of her dress where the missing legs were hopefully hiding underneath. "Do you have legs?", he asked, a very curious intonation coloring his tone. "And if you do, are they shaped as well as the rest of you?" He thought he'd come up with a fairly courteous way of putting it, even if the question was probably nothing close to purpose.
And he should probably explain himself a little bit. He clasped his hands behind his back over his tail and paced to the left and right a bit, shrugging. "I was wondering if there was anything under the dress or if you're only...floating. I don't see any feet, and you're too graceful for me to see your legs moving underneath your dress." See, Zidane had more compliments to go with his question! These sorts of questions had always been hit-or-miss with Dagger, even as close as they were, but goddesses probably knew they were supposed to be divine-looking and really attractive. Hopefully Cosmos would just give him an answer.

Amusement made way for confusion when Zidane asked her a most peculiar question… ‘did she have legs’? Was that truly what he was worrying about? No concerns about where he was or about the upcoming fight? Just her legs? The goddess opened her mouth to reply to his odd question when he elaborated on it further. Oh dear… what was this? Why was he saying these things? Crossing her arms over her chest and looking down at her warrior with a somewhat confused expression, she pondered how to reply to this. Did she have legs? Well… yes, she did. But was that really important? Was that truly what he wanted to know from her? Cosmos had a hard time imagining it, and so she tried to use her insight to try and ascertain whether legs was a metaphor for something, that he had been too shy or uncomfortable to ask his question directly and that’s why he talked around it. If that was the case, she’d have to figure it out somehow because she truly wanted to help him find the answers he sought. But the more she thought and the more he talked, the more she came to the conclusion that this really was all he wanted to know. He wasn’t using metaphors, he wasn’t talking around a bigger issue… his issue was seriously the question of whether she had legs or not.
“…I…” Cosmos wasn’t often at a loss for words, but this certainly put her in a spot she’d never been in, and she wasn’t sure what to say. Just tell the truth she supposed, but she couldn’t get over how odd the question had been and how pretty much every other question would overshadow this one in terms of importance. But she couldn’t just ignore him, so after opening and closing her mouth two or three times to think up the right words, she finally replied. “…Indeed I do,” she spoke in a flat, ungoddesslike tone because how could anyone reply to this in any other way? “And I… I cannot comment on that,” her voice changed its pitch a little when he mentioned her shapely figure. What in the world was he talking about? “That… is something only others can decide, for they see me differently than I see myself,” yes that seemed like a good answer. An almost uncomfortable feeling washed over her when she considered the possibilities of how he would take her answer, he wouldn’t ask her to lift her dress and show him her legs, would he? He seemed to seriously question their existence, and he’d already asked her a weird question before so she wouldn’t put it past him. “Does that satisfy your curiosity?”
