Snow had waited for this day for a long, long time - the day he could finally get back out into the open air, toss all of his equipment in the truck, get started bright and early, and spend a long day doing nothing but hunting monsters and keeping people safe like it was the old days again. The morning felt fantastic, warm with a nice, cool breeze, and Snow made sure to keep his head half-out the window like an overly excited dog as he drove out into the Steppe to see what the pickings were for monsters to track down. Yeah, NORA and the rest of the people back in town thought it had been something like a week since Snow had last been out hunting, but he couldn't even remember the last time at all. He was pretty sure he and Gadot had...had...killed a...something, somewhere. Wow, it had been so long... Snow couldn't even be sure it was Gadot that he'd last gone hunting with, and it was a good thing that no one had asked him this morning when he'd been running around, trying to nab Sazh or Hope or Rygdea or someone to head out with him for this hunt. Rygdea had said he'd love to but had work...but he'd also mentioned that Fang had slipped away last night and mentioned she might head out for some quality time on the Steppe today. Whether she wanted his company or not, Snow was going to try and track her down and see how impressed she was by this truck of his. Who was he kidding - of course Fang would want to see him! They hadn't really gotten a chance to hang out much since they'd all been transported back here by...the goddess, or whoever was up there now. Snow wanted a chance to catch up, and what better what to catch up than with a heck of a lot of monsters to fight in the meantime.
"How hard can it be...", he mumbled under his breath to himself as he shifted his arm on the open driverside window, meaning how hard could it be to find one woman in the middle of a gigantic stretch of land that hadn't been settled. Chances are, it'd be pretty hard. Snow had been driving around for half an hour now, and though he'd seen his fair share of monsters hanging around and a few that tried to chase this mean machine down and failed, he hadn't seen a single human being around. He huffed a little under his breath, but nothing could dampen his mood on a day like this one. Besides, he had all day to track her down, and nothing was stopping him from getting a little head start on some monster hunting before the huntress showed up. Hey, he might have some huge trophy to show her before she even got started! Grinning to himself at the thought, he started staring out the driverside window to find that perfect trophy, when he noticed a giant shadow coming at him really fast from that side. "Oooooh crap... No, no!"
Snow immediately swerved the truck as hard to the right as he could, bumping up so roughly against the door that he grunted for his poor, soon-to-be sore elbow. The truck reacted just like she was supposed to, though, and careened off to the right just in time to avoid the blow coming from above. With a cocky laugh, Snow waved a fist out the window at the passing shadow and looked out the windshield just fast enough to see the zirnitra passing by overhead, clearly angered and ready to come back around. Now that winged beauty would be a trophy. "Hey big guy! A little warning next time!", he taunted, as it swung around for another pass. Snow mashed the brakes and grinned to himself as he felt the truck stop on a dime. Right, time to dance with this big guy a little bit. He threw the gears in reverse and smashed the accelerator again, checking one time over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't going to run into anything before he turned back to look at the zirnitra swooping down for him again with a giant screech. "Yeah, come and get me!"
And boy if it didn't try, as Snow watched the claws getting closer and closer as the beast descended until they just missed the front of the truck and the zirnitra pulled up again to avoid crashing into the ground. "Come on, what are ya? Chocobo?", he yelled once more, completely elated, as he swung the truck back around and headed off in pursuit. Oh yeah, this day was going to be what he needed to unwind!

My battle cry So, pick up, and follow me, we're the only ones to fight this thing, until we've won She hadn't felt so alive in what seemed like forever.
While she hadn't been able to drag Rygdea away for the night - something she sincerely regretted - she couldn't help but enjoy the time to herself. The previous night Fang had gone hunting for behemoths. She'd taken down three before she decided to carve herself off some fresh meat, fish to add a bit of variety, and then settle down for a night on the Steppes. She hadn't done that in...Etro-...or...those other two - only knew how long. Had she since she was really twenty one years old? Not likely. She'd salted everything to fit how she liked in taste - instead of having to deal with wimpy Cocoonians and their strange dislike for good food - stripped down to nearly nothing, and slept underneath the stars. She couldn't think of a better night than that - unless she'd had a certain someone as a blanket. Aww well, there was always next time. Since the goddesses had transferred them back, Fang had been angrier than a chocobo in a nest of vipers about Gran Pulse still looking like a wannabe Cocoon land. When she got out here, away from it all though...she could forget about the shitholes they said were 'dignified cities' and really feel the rugged wilderness of Gran Pulse she remembered and loved so much.
Now the wind whipped at her, tearing her garb and her hair to the side and slicing through her clothes as she soared the skies on Bahamut. Not only could she enjoy the wind through her hair and the sun on her skin, but she'd also been sipping from a now near empty bottle of brandy that she'd brought along on her ride. While it hadn't been anywhere close to empty when she'd started her journey, it was nearly so now. Instead of focusing on the wind, she brandished her lance and flickered her eyes across the land. What would she find to take down tonight? A behemoth perhaps? Eh...there was sport there, but she'd taken own plenty of those to last a lifetime, three alone the night before. Besides, the only way that was fun or challenging was when you tangled with an angry alpha male.
But as she soared around a cliff side, Fang's eyes searched for a target that would indeed provide some entertainment. A wolfish grin crossed her lips when she saw the adamantoises that usually trailed around the Steppes.. Taking a last drink of her brandy to finish it off, Fang felt it burn down her throat before she hurled the bottle away and allowed it to fall toward Gran Pulse below. That being done, she let out a throaty battle cry and leaned forward on bahamut, signaling him to descend. "Yeeee-haaw!" Tucking in his wings, the summon dove down and toward the large beasts. Fang's intense blue eyes flickered over the large beasts that were miling around. It was best to hunt those that weren't used to being hunted. It was always more fun to attack something unused to such abuse, their reactions were much better. Their sharp decline caused her eyes to narrow in response. Moisture developed in her eyes from the sharp winds. Even still, she crawled further up on her summon and positioned herself nearly on his head. "Alroight, bud. Ya ready?", she called out in elation. Gripping the cold metal with her lithe legs, Fang rested one hand flat on bahamut and readied her lance. She was preparing herself mentally for the jump to come - to land on the back of the giant turtle. From there, she could get to taking the large beast down. It took her no time at all to realize there was a noise that was taking away from the still afternoon. Baring her teeth slightly, Fang wrinkled her nose and caused bahamut to fly in a circle so she could find the location of the roaring noise. She didn't have time to really study or find the source however. She had taken her eyes off the adamantoises for a few seconds, and in that time, one of the panicked beasts had reared to its hind legs. A tusk caught the underbelly of bahamut and before she realized it, Fang was being hurled in the air. "Oooooh Fffff-" Her swear was cut off when she hit the edge of bahamut's wing and scrambled to try and catch it. Her fingers couldn't quite find a grab though, and she found herself once more plummeting through the sky. "Daaaaamn!", she shouted as the wind tore the words from her mouth. What the hell was happening?
Fang felt herself tumbling through the sky at an alarming rate. This was not the way this was supposed to have gone. Attempting to twist in the air wasn't working either. "Baaaa-haaaaaaaa-muuuuuuuuut!", she called out in desperation. Fang frantically searched for the cause of what was happening - her eyes narrowing to pinpoint a wildly driven truck skimming through the herd. "Shiiiiiiit.", she burst out with right before she noticed that one of the adamantoises was rearing in rage. Fang braced herself and a moment later slammed onto the top of its head. Blinking, Fang was once more thrown up when it's head whipped back.
Fang landed against the rocks of the cliff face and scrambled for a hold on the rocks. "Shit, shit, shit.", she muttered before she glanced over her shoulder and saw the beast that had reared upwards slam against a second one - who in turn was stumbling toward her at a rate Fang was quick to calculate would slam into the rocks nearly where she was. Grunting, she pulled up on her body until her feet were flat against the rocks and pushed away with as much strength as she could muster. Doing so, she narrowly avoided being smashed into the rocks and what she didn't doubt would have been immediate death. Her force hurled her once more to the large beast, and when she landed on it's head she rolled over and over until she came to a stop. Muttering under her breath, Fang snatched up the lance that had miraculously landed near her on its neck. Moments later it started to shake it's head from side to side. With a grunt, Fang slammed her lance down and clung for dear life even as it again got slammed up against the rocky cliff. Rocks poured down and toward her. "Dammit", she burst out again. Getting her feet back and underneath her body, Fang pulled her lance free and started running up the length of its neck. When she reached the head, Fang jumped right before the large rocks spattered down upon the beast. Her jump caused her to land directly on the second adamantoise, where she crouched and grabbed a jutting piece of its shell while she caught her breath.
Who the hell was the crazy driver, and what had caused them to drive straight into the middle of an adamantoise herd? Picking up her lance, Fang started her rush up the back and neck of the beast so she could get more of a vantage point from the head. No doubt whoever it was, was having his own set of difficulties not being smushed by the feet of the beasts. She hoped whoever was doing it had learned their lesson. She would have had an adamantoise as a prize if they hadn't messed her up.

"Fast, aren't ya!?"
Snow tore across the landscape, jumping uneven patches of ground and cutting past watering holes as he tore off almost as fast as the beast above him was flying. He only lost control a couple of times and spun off to the side, but this mean machine he'd bought up was built for this kind of chase. Getting it back on track wasn't a big problem at all. With bright, excited eyes, Snow kept his eyes trained on the monster out of his windshield and barely paid attention to anything going on around him. While he wasn't the biggest professional on Gran Pulse monsters - they were Fang's deal - he knew that he had to get this flying monster into some kind of rocky area to get it cornered, and Snow could take it down with no problem. Okay, he might have a little bit of a problem, but nothing an experienced monster hunter couldn't handle! These Gran Pulse monsters were larger than the ones on Cocoon, sure, but Snow was stronger now, too. This zirnitra wasn't going to know what hit it! If...Snow ever...got right...behind it....he could just...rush it off in the direction of the Massif and everything would be okay...
...Snow didn't remember that rock formation up ahead of him, and he thought he'd figured this area out pretty well before he'd left to go find Light ages ago. His eyes turned away from the flying zirnitra just long enough for him to peek forward and see what was obstructing him...and what he found was definitely not a rock formation. "Uh oh," he said, under his breath, before he immediately swerved to the right to avoid an adamantoise stomping on his truck and destroying it for good. He yelled as much to himself as to them as he crossed underneath it, still at full speed. "Why are you big jerks here!?" Well, they were probably here because they lived here, but- "No, don't step there!", he called, as he avoided a second one stomping him into the dirt by swerving back to the left and hitting an upturned bit of land at an odd angle. The truck almost tipped over onto its side, but Snow ripped the steering wheel back in the other direction so hard that the truck had to obey and right itself, skidding to a near-stop underneath another adamantoise. "Can't you call go home!?"
Checking the sky just long enough to see that the zirnitra had flown away, Snow grumbled lightly to himself and lightly punched the top of the steering wheel before the bellowing adamantoise above him got his attention again. "Hey, I got just as much right to this spot as you d-" The adamantoise raised up on its hind legs as if to tell Snow that it had a lot more right to the spot, and Snow suddenly changed his tone, almost tearing the gear shift off as he tore it into another position. "Wait, no, I didn't mean it!" He saw that the adamantoise didn't seem to care, though, and again Snow took off, spinning tires, to get out from under it before it landed. It shook him inside the truck when it finally did, leaving Snow to turn around behind him and take a look to see what it was doing now.
He couldn't for long, because he knew just out of his line of sight now that there were a few more of these things roaming around. Apparently, Gran Pulse had decided to strike back when it had heard he was going hunting today. The truck rattled along with Snow surveying to see where it was safe to go in the area. One of these monsters was really losing its mind, off to his side. It hadn't been one of the ones Snow had gotten all that close to, so it really didn't have a reason to be so upset. "What's got you riled up, big guy..." The former l'Cie looked it up and down for a sign of a problem, but he didn't see anything...until he noticed something on the creature's back that had just...run forward towards its head by the looks of it. Not too many things could run towards a creature's head and stand on top of it aside form a human, so Snow had to assume that there was some kind of crazy person up there going for the ride of his or her life. Snow only knew one person that crazy...and he knew she was out here somewhere. Where else would she be but on top of an adamantoise?
He stuck almost his whole upper body out the window as he tried to keep driving with one hand and wave up at her. "Hey, Fang!" She probably wouldn't hear him, but she might just see him!

WITH YOUR FACE TO THE FLOOR
{Words} 703 {Tagged} Snow {Wearing} DIS ONE Fang didn't have too much time to sit and watch whoever the hell was down there tearing around in their truck. As the beast she was on panicked - or got even angrier - it threw it's head back and reared onto its hind legs. "Shit!" It seemed her entire language had gotten increasingly colorful as this day progressed, and all thanks to the psychotic madman - or woman - that was down there making her life miserable. She could feel her feet leave the head when it reared, and she was thrown backwards through the air. Fang landed heavily on her back, slamming against the shell. "Ugh..." Fang blinked a few times as the world around her began to spin wildly. Moments later she realized it was because she herself was rolling uncontrollably and nearing the backside - and a long descent - if she didn't do something about it.
Shaking off the foggy state she had been in from her fall, Fang scrambled to attempt to right herself. The various parts of the shell caught and broke her tumble, but each time she attempted to grab it, the beast moved violently and she was sent spiraling in another direction. Right before she dropped off the back, Fang finally snagged a hold. With the lower half of her body hanging off the end, she found herself grunting with exertion to pull herself back up. That didn't solve her current situation though, seeing as the giant turtle was far from calm again.
Words came out in a stream of angry curses. If she didn't find a way off this crazy turtle and back onto solid ground, Fang was going to be in serious trouble - as if she wasn't already. Where the hell was Lady Luck today anyway? She could sure use some assistance! Scrambling to her feet again, Fang rushed back up the shell and toward the head. As it settled back on the ground, Fang was thrown forward and onto her stomach. Rolling to the side, Fang popped back to her feet and sprinted the rest of the way back to the only weak spot this beast had. When she arrived, Fang settled back and hefted her lance - miraculously still in her possession.
A shouting caught her attention for the briefest of seconds. Clinging to the last spike on the neck, Fang's gaze swung down and narrowed in on the crazy driver again. Only this time, she could identify who it was. Damn it! What the hell did Snow think he was doing? If he didn't get himself killed, she would do the honors for him once she got off of this damned adamantoise and back on stable ground. Before she could kill Snow, however, she was going to have to take down this adamantoise and somehow get the hell off without getting her own neck broken. Hell of a day. "I'm going to kill you!", she screamed from her vantage point. Pushing herself off, Fang ran toward the high point on the head. Once there, she propelled herself off with her momentum and readied her lance. A fierce battle cry tore from her lungs as she plummeted down, sinking her lance deep into its skull. The resulting roar mingled with her own voice, before the head sunk down and the tusks caught the ground - throwing her forward. Piercing the sky with a whistle, Fang scrambled backwards and up the neck as it started it's collapse to the ground. She could see Bahamut circling toward her.
At the last second, she launched herself into the air and managed to be caught by her summon. Skidding forward, Fang landed heavily on her stomach again. "Nugh...he's gonna die.", she muttered before pushing herself up and rolling over until she was seated in her normal location on bahamut. From there she could see where the adamantoise had collapsed. There was one unsavory, dull witted beast dead...now where was the second?

Hey, it looked like Fang had somehow spotted him from way up there! He could tell for sure it was her now, standing up there with that lance and some...clothing that didn't look like her old...s-...sa-...her old blue outfit but would pretty much be something she'd probably wear. And she was saying...something to him, even while she was trying to stay standing up there in such a dangerous placed. Some things never changed, and apparently, Fang's attraction to really dangerous situations was one of those things. Snow poked his ear further out of the window of his truck to hear her, but he couldn't catch much of it over the sound of his truck's massive engine, the stomping and bellowing of all the giant monsters hanging around, and the whipping of the wind across the Steppe. What it sounded like was that she was saying his truck looked really good, but he couldn't be sure. Well, she was probably thinking that the truck looked really good either way, so Snow would yell back to her in kind. "Thanks! Not bad at all, is it!? Uh...do I need to help you get down!?", he called back, stretching out his ear to hear if she said anything else...but it looked like she was getting ready to take down the beast and get herself down. Snow wasn't going to doubt she could do it, but the landing didn't look all that great if she managed to do it.
Snow only had to drive in aimless circles for a few seconds before he saw what Fang was up to - and then realized that the beast that she had apparently just injured badly enough to topple it over was falling forward - towards him. "Not...again...", Snow grunted out, as he spun the truck around and started off before the beast had even started to fall. Oh Etro...oh man...it was falling really fast, Snow could see, as he kept looking in the rearview mirror and the side mirrors. The head was getting bigger and bigger, deepening the cringe on Snow's face as it went along. And Snow's truck was fast, but not that fast. And then...Fang was going to be falling if the beast was falling, wasn't she? Against his better judgment, Snow turned his head out the window to see if he could spot Fang falling, but all he could see was a giant tusk ready to take his head off... He grit his teet and-
It landed just beside him as he swerved in the other direction, the truck splitting both tusks but ramming into the one on the opposite side. Snow let out a chorus of whoas as he spun the wheel in different directions about twelve different times as he tried to get it under control and slowed down before he flipped it over or ran into something else or... Crap, where was Fang!? As Snow got his truck just barely back to normal, he stuck his neck out the window again and stared behind him at the adamantoise looking for his Pulsian friend, but he didn't see her. "Fang!?", he yelled, hoping she might hear him from somewhere, but, just when he was starting to get kind of really worried...he spotted her...or he spotted her giant winged summon flying past overhead. Breaking out into laughter - happy he hadn't totally gotten the truck destroyed by the adamantoise and happy that Fang was fine even after that huge, dramatic takedown - Snow swung around and followed Bahamut with his truck, trying to flag her down with his arm.
