"Yeah-heh!", Snow called, as he hit a jump that nearly threw him from the seat before he nailed the landing and it jerked him back in place. "Oh yeah...handles those jumps like a charm..." Okay, launching over a natural ramp made out of rock and then feeling the tires crash roughly into the ground wasn't exactly handling like a charm, but hey, Snow was happy with it. A big, wide smile remained on his face as he spun the wheels and felt the giant truck spin its way around to head in the direction of New Bodhum. The thing was a beauty, bigger than any of the trucks back on Cocoon - six giant tires, a huge bed in the back the size of a sandloader, and a cab that looked like it might as well be armored. It was pretty hard to tell it wasn't just a tank chugging along on the outskirts of New Bodhum, but boy, did this truck not handle like a tank. Ahh, yeah, Serah was going to love this thing...and Light was gonna kill him.
Light couldn't blame him for celebrating a little, though! It had been...forever since they had all been together and able to live life like they wanted to, not the way some fal'Cie or time guardian or other jerk wanted them to live. Things were so great and normal again that no one but the eight of them that had been l'Cie knew about the death of Etro and the mess with the planet that had exploded, and...just...all they'd all been through. Snow's face fell just a little as he drove, remembering his own path to get back here and make sure everyone was happy. He was glad only seven other people actually knew about the whole mess in Yusnaan...and they didn't judge him for what he'd been trying to do. His hands gripped the wheel tighter for a moment, as he gulped in his pride. In some way, he guessed, his actions had gotten Light closer to her goals, but he should have been fighting with her instead of against her the whole time. Yeah...he could beat himself up all day over what he'd done, but the last thing he wanted to do was to let regrets get in the way of enjoying life again and helping Serah and the rest enjoy it, too. Loosening a bit, he let the grin return and drummed a little on the steering wheel, seeing the edge of New Bodhum up ahead.
"Time to show what this baby can do...", he said, under his breath, cutting off of the beach and into the edge of the water to bypass the gate and slide his way into town with water spraying left and right. The people gathered up on the beach to do whatever they were doing with their day - playing volleyball, building sand castles, or just enjoying the beach - spread out to grant him passage, almost as entertained by the sight as Snow was. He pulled up with a slide that upended way too much sand, cutting the engine and opening the door. People were already asking each other questions about where he'd gotten a truck of this size, but he could answer those questions later. He had a pinkette to steal off before he did anything else.
"Hey hey, folks! I come in peace," he greeted them, warmly and with a wave, before he jumped down from the cab and landed roughly in the sand below. "Anyone know where Serah is?" Most of them shook their heads, but the rest commented that she might still be in NORA house or doing something at the schoolhouse by this time of day. Kind of funny to think that none of them knew about her disappearing to track down Lightning; they all still thought she was just "Meanie Miss Farron," their resident schoolteacher and cat lover. Judging from what Hope had told him, "Meanie Miss Farron" didn't cover the half of it when it came to her finding out that someone had built a fal'Cie. "Thanks, guys," he added before jogging up further into the town to search for the woman he loved and grab her up for a more exciting afternoon than she'd probably been counting on. Once close enough, he cupped his hands over his mouth and started calling. "Seeeeerah! You around!?"

Tagged : Snow | Words : 623 | Notes : ^ It was such a nice, quiet day today. The kids had behaved themselves rather well after she’d glared at them, the people outside had kept things to an acceptable level of volume so as not to disturb her classes, and… oh who was she fooling? Today wasn’t any different from what it had been the last time she’d lived here, but Serah saw everything through rose-tinted glasses lately. She was alive, and not just that but everyone she’d wanted to find had come back with her as well. It felt almost surreal to be standing here after everything that had happened recently, though maybe recently wasn’t the right word to use… it had been at least a thousand years since she’d stood here, in this classroom, silently gazing out of the window and longing for the day she’d see her sister again. And then Snow had left to go find Lightning for her and… it had been a difficult time for her, and it had only gotten worse somehow after she’d started travelling with Noel. Every step she’d taken to get closer to her loved ones had ended up sending her three steps back. But she wouldn’t need to worry about that anymore. It was… alright now. Everyone was safe, and all was as it should’ve been all along.
Sighing happily, the pinkette sat down on the window sill and enjoyed the warm sunlight that was shining down on her. The kids were outside playing right now, and one of the other teachers was keeping watch over them so Serah could enjoy her lunch in peace. Out of the blue, she simply giggled a little and hopped off the sill again to walk up to her desk. She was just so happy with how things had turned out! It had been a rough, uphill battle for all of them, but now it was over. It was finally over and they could enjoy life again without worrying about the fate of the entire universe somehow. As soon as she reached her desk though, a loud noise came from outside and it startled her enough to make her drop the paper’s she’d started gathering. What in the world…?
With a confused expression, the teacher marched up to the window and pushed it open before leaning out of it slightly. What was that noise? Had those kids gotten their hands on one of Maqui’s tools again? Hopefully not, even after everything that happened she still remembered the mess they’d made way back then and how she’d spent almost an entire day trying to clear the oil off the beach in-between calming Maqui down a little. Hmm… it didn’t look like anything had been blown up… so what was…? Her eyes closed and she shook her head a little when she heard the familiar voice that called her name. Why wasn’t she surprised to find out that Snow had something to do with that noise? He was like a big kid himself sometimes. “Up here!” she called and waved her arm to catch his attention, “Hold on, I’ll be right there!” without waiting for confirmation, she stepped back and closed the window again before hurrying out of the classroom, the building, and finally down the small slope the school had been built on towards the beach. Judging from the looks everyone was giving both herself and Snow, it was obvious enough that her fiancé was indeed the one who disturbed the peace somehow. As soon as she spotted him, she smirked and crossed her arms, “Still a lover of big, exciting entrances, are we?” He was always so extreme with these things, but then, that’s what she’d always loved about him; his passion. “What was that noise?”

There she was. Well, she was somewhere around here, at least, and up. It took Snow a few seconds to find the right window against the sunlight pouring into the little seaside town, but the wide grin again crossed his face once he saw her up above in one of the school's windows and gave her a big wave. "Hey! You're not in class, are ya!?" He'd be proud of her whatever she did in life, but something about her being a schoolteacher really, really made him want to brag about her to everyone he passed by. Her helping get kids ready for the future just seemed...right. Plus, Snow thought this whole "Meanie Miss Farron" reputation was the cutest thing. Now that people were going to get to meet Light, they might ease off on Serah for being a little forceful sometimes. As least Serah didn't start punching and kicking people around just because she didn't agree with them - that was Light's thing. But, hey, Serah had become just about as good of a fighter as her sister while everything had gone crazy with the timeline, so she just might start punching and kicking if someone mouthed off to her. Snow wouldn't mind a little affectionate roughhousing once they got this whole marriage sorted out, either...
Though she'd already disappeared from the window while he stood there admiring her every trait, Snow called back to her a few seconds late regardless. "Alright! Got a surprise for ya!" And boy, did he hope she liked it as much as he thought she would, because he was sure going to take a beating from her sister for ever bringing something so big into New Bodhum. Now worried that Light was going to ruin the surprise, he turned around in place and searched the beach for her, but thankfully, she wasn't around just yet. She was probably off waking up at a crazy time again to do some military service or something...or maybe, she was just trying to enjoy a life that she once thought she'd lost. Snow cared for Light, too, and he hoped she would just take it easy for a while. Even with all he'd been through and how it had affected him, it wasn't much of anything compared to Light's experiences. She deserved a normal life more than just about any of them, and if Snow had anything to say about it, she'd have it.
But, for right now, he was going to see about showing his fiancee the best day she'd had in a long, long time. He spotted her coming out of the school in his direction and started walking over to meet her. She knew she totally loved his entrances, and he wrapped his arms around her to lift her in a big hug even as she crossed her arms. "Is there any other kind of entrance?", he asked her, boisterously. Normally, he'd stick for a hero at the end of that kind of question, but he wasn't exactly feeling up to the whole hero thing here lately, ever since Yusnaan. It didn't mean he was going to get down in the dumps about it. Instead, he planted a kiss on Serah's nose and gazed into her face lovingly. He tried to look as confused as possible when she asked him about the sound of the truck rolling up, but with him smiling so much, it was kind of hard to do. She could figure him out in a second, anyway. "That noise? What noise?" Almost as soon as he said it, he started chuckling loudly, letting her feet back down onto the sandy beach and stepping to her side to take her hand. "Close your eyes,", he told her, still grinning widely in excitement over the reveal. He realized somewhere deep down that a new vehicle wasn't the greatest thing ever in the world, but after all he and Serah both had been through, anything that could bring them a little joy would be worth fighting all the way through time all over again.

Tagged : Snow | Words : 994 | Notes : Serah using Snow as a jungle gym, we all saw this day coming
Serah almost felt a little giddy standing by the window and waving down at Snow like she was. It almost reminded her of the time she’d had to sneak around all sneakily to ensure Lightning didn’t catch her talking to Snow over the phone or through the window or something else. Although her sister had never outright told her she couldn’t date, and although she really couldn’t be sure whether Lightning would like Snow or not, Serah had decided right from the moment she’d gotten closer to him that she was going to keep it to herself, at least for the time being. Her sister was… well… very protective, was probably the nice way to describe it. And she’d been just as invested into Serah’s future as Serah herself had been, so the younger Farron had tried her best to hide any distractions she might’ve had from her schoolwork, just to be on the safe side. “Not right now, it’s lunch time!” she giggled as she leaned out of the window, glancing behind Snow she could see some of her students staring up at her. Maybe they thought she was calling out to them? It gave her a serious sense of satisfaction to know that she could get her students’ attention even during break times, when they were freely running around and playing outside. They called her a meanie sometimes, but at least she commanded respect in the classroom, and that was something to be proud of, she thought. It was nicer to have students refer to you as the nice teacher, but then, most nice teachers had the kids walk all over them because they were too nice to punish them. Not on Serah’s watch. Her kids behaved or they went into the naughty corner.
On the way down the stairs, she almost bumped into another teacher, an older and clearly more experienced teacher. Serah politely nodded a greeting before stepping off to the side and letting the older woman pass by. It was odd but… even now that she was a teacher herself, Serah’s mind was still somehow stuck in student mode, and she behaved as well as she could around the people who were old enough that they could’ve been her teachers. Maybe those feelings would go away as she grew older and became better at her job. She hadn’t been teaching that long, and she’d never had any formal training in that area, so it was only natural that she wasn’t that great at it yet. But she was getting there at least! And now that everything had calmed down again with the whole Etro thing, she could finally start focusing on her career more seriously. There would hopefully be no more crude distractions from now on.
When she finally made it out of the building and into the fresh outside air, she tried her best to put on her miss Farron face and keep calm and collected like any mature teacher would, but when Snow wrapped his arms around her and picked her up, she couldn’t stop herself from grinning like a lovestruck teen before wrapping her arms around his shoulders. “Not for you, no,” she laughed joyfully when he kissed her nose, and when he pulled back again to look at her, she was the one leaning in to press a quick kiss on his cheek. Somewhere behind them, a bunch of her students were mocking them for the open display of affection, and Serah might’ve scolded them for it had she not been so distracted by someone else. Someone she hadn’t… actually seen that much these last years. They’d built up New Bodhum together, but then he’d left to go find Lightning. And then the next time she saw him had been brief encounters in the wild and in the coliseum, there had hardly been time to talk or to even really be in each other’s company at the time. And then she’d… well, all of that was in the past now. It was time to focus on the future, and try to forget about the things they’d experienced throughout their journey.
Yes Serah had been distracted by Snow, and that’s why she had ignored the funny comments from her students, but when they started chanting some sort of embarrassing song she pressed her arms down on Snow’s shoulders to push herself up higher before glaring down at the little rascals. “Hey!” she called down at them in a stern voice, “Stop that, right this instant.” And as was usually the case, the kids obeyed her almost right away. “Yes miss Farron,” came a few small voices before they all ran off to go play again. Nodding proudly to herself, she relaxed a little again and grinned innocently at her fiancé. It probably didn’t seem like a big deal, just kids being kids, but Serah knew that if you let these things slide too much, they’d start getting ideas and turn into downright brats. Better to nip it in the bud rather than dealing with it later. Just as she looked at him again though, she remembered her original question. That noise she’d heard… Snow had something to do with that, didn’t he?
“What noise…” she repeated with a shake of her head, but when she heard him laugh she giggled right along with him. He couldn’t hide these things from her, and apparently he knew it too because mere seconds later he set her back down on her feet and told her to close her eyes. Oh, a surprise, was it? That was nice! Serah liked surprises! “Okay,” she laughed and placed both her hands in front of her eyes. She wondered what it was… “You’d better not lead me straight into the water though,” she warned him with a fake frown. Actually, she could see him do that too. She was sure the kids would instantly love him if he did something like that.

Oooh...Snow could do with some lunch time of his own. He'd been so excited about bringing the truck back to New Bodhum he'd forgotten to pick up lunch...and for a man Snow's size, forgetting lunch was a bad idea. Grimacing, he placed a hand on his stomach and patted it a few times to make sure it didn't get too upset with him for forgetting about it... Besides, he'd take care of it when he got back from giving Serah the ride of her life! They could pop back into town, and he'd fire up the grill to cook some behemoth steaks so he, Serah, and the kids could have a nice meal to keep them going for the rest of the day. He'd probably get yelled at by that crabby principal who always gave him an evil glare when he passed her on the beach, but hey, Snow would make some sacrifices for the kids!
And he'd make some sacrifices to show Serah a good time, too, even if Light was going to bludgeon him with her fist for taking Serah out on a truck this gigantic. Even as he was showboating for Serah when she exited the building, he knew what he was going to hear from Light. "Leave it to the idiot to buy something so dangerous." "Don't you dare take Serah out for rides in that thing." "Something something anger I don't trust you you're a big oaf something.". All he'd probably have to do was let her borrow it a few days a week to drive around, and the one-time Sanctum soldier in her would probably emerge again. She'd have a blast. But for right now, he'd just avoiiid her and let her pretty sister be the one to have a blast. And boy, was she pretty. Snow just had to hold her up in his arms for a few seconds after she kissed him to admire her. He knew the thoughts were dark and was doing his best to get rid of them, but...he had almost lost that face, and this wonderful girl that face belonged to. He had already seen what he would do if he thought he had lost her...and it wasn't pretty. Never again would he fail to keep her safe from the dangers of the world, and never again would he think that changing himself would ever change her fate. She needed him to stay sane, too, if she was going to have the good life that they always wanted.
But, hey, he could be dramatic some other time. Right now, he had a lady to entertain- or watch tear into her students while he held her in his arms. Snow looked between his fiancee and the children worriedly for a few moments as they were doing some kind of singing that was clearly...clearly...getting on Serah's nerves. Of course, Snow could say something to them himself, being probably the biggest man any of them had ever seen...but hearing Serah break out into her teacher voice made his mouth tear into a wide grin instead. Lowering Serah back to her feet, Snow kept that grin on his face as he looked to the kids. "Hey, kids, the faster you learn that a happy Miss Farron means a happy life like I had to learn, you'll all get a lot farther in life, trust me," he joked, though a few of them just looked at him like he was weird and bothering them...so he didn't really say anything else, only looked at them back like they were the weird ones. No kid could go thinking they were more sensible than he was after all.
The grin from his being entertained by Serah's method with the kids only intensified as Serah put her hands over her eyes for Snow to lead her to the beauty he'd brought back from out of town. Content that she couldn't see anything, he led her lightly by the elbow, swaggering his way down the beach with her in tow. "Would I do a thing like that?", he asked, rhetorically. While he might do a thing like that to someone from NORA, or maybe Sazh, he would never lead an unknowing Serah into the water without her knowing anything about it. Heck, he didn't want her mad at him, either, so it was a good idea not to cross her in a lot of ways.
He led her over silently until they were in front of the beautiful, gigantic machine that stood almost as tall as Snow just from how high the wheels sat, at which point Snow stopped leading her and turned to see how she would react. Man, he was excited about this reveal. "Alright, Serah...open your eyes!"

“If it's too much to deal with, face it later."
Even just walking down the stairs to go greet Snow outside made her smile and feel grateful for the fact that they’d gotten a second chance at life. When she and Noel had solved the final paradox, and when she’d had that final vision… Serah had felt a lot of regret. She regretted the fact that she’d never asked her sister to sit down with her and have a good heart to heart about their lives and their relationship, she regretted the secrecy of her relationship with Snow and the fact that it had taken her getting branded before she’d finally been willing and able to admit to Lightning that her plans in life had changed, and of course, she regretted her last meeting with Snow. That was the thing that had haunted her the most, that she hadn’t been able to say goodbye to him like she had with Lightning. Lightning at least knew how much she loved her, and how much she wanted her sister to live on by herself. But Snow… she hadn’t been able to reach Snow like that. The last thing they’d said to each other was about how she’d come get him if he didn’t return to her, and though she knew Snow was aware of her feelings towards him, she still regretted not telling him how much she loved him back when she’d had the chance. She regretted not being able to tell him how she wanted him to be happy, even if it was without her. And he hadn’t been happy, had he? He’d waited for the day when he could join her in death rather than move on with his life, and she couldn’t help but feel partially responsible for that, though she was obviously the only one experiencing those feelings. As she stepped outside the building and saw him smile at her though, she pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and grinned back at him. They’d endured terrible things, but those things were in the past. They had gotten another chance, and Serah planned to make the most of this new life she’d been given. Although she’d still make some mistakes here and there, she made a vow to herself that she would try to live this life without having any regrets. She’d do what she wanted to do and talk about whatever she wanted to talk about, even if it was difficult sometimes. And as for Snow… he’d waited a lifetime to see her again, and she planned to make up for all those years of loneliness by being the best damn girlfriend he could’ve ever asked for.
The students singing about their sappy moment bothered her a little. Not so much because she thought being sappy was a shameful thing or anything, but because they were interrupting her. She’d waited for this moment entirely too long, they both had, and she’d be damned before she’d let the kids ruin it by making fun of them in the background. Of course, her scolding the kids wasn’t exactly romantic either, so maybe she should’ve just ignored them. Oh well, too late now, and at least she could feel strengthened by the fact that she still had it, kids were still intimidated by her enough to listen. “Hey,” she lightly shoved her fiancé’s arm when he commented on a happy Serah meaning a happy life. …she supposed it was kind of true, but it made her sound like some sort of evil girlfriend that chased him around throwing kitchen supplies at him if he didn’t behave. The looks the kids and the big kid exchanged made her laugh though. She’d missed this, all of this. It was all so simple and yet, it was the simple things that Serah had missed the most. Little things like this made life great, and she’d make sure to remember that. “It’s okay,” she patted his back lightly, “For what it’s worth, I still like you.” She was sure the kids like him too though. He was practically one of them, only taller and a little more serious at times, what was there not to like? But then, as Noel could attest to, Serah was kind of biased when it came to Snow.
“Yes, you would,” she remarked from behind her covered eyes. He probably wouldn’t try it with her if she were in a foul mood, but she certainly didn’t put it past him to pull a prank like that, even on her if he felt confident she wouldn’t get too mad, and today was one of those days few things would make her genuinely mad. Even her scolding of the kids had mostly been done to keep them in line, not because she was overly frustrated with them. Her feet still didn’t feel wet though as he led her along, so apparently he really didn’t plan on pranking her like this. It was probably a good thing too, the kids would love it, and probably keep reminding her of that time she walked right into the ocean. But that didn’t happen, so that was one less thing to worry about. Snow told her to open her eyes, and Serah slowly dropped her hands to her sides again, her eyes widening slightly when she beheld the monstrosity before her. Well… that explained the noise anyway. “You bought this?” she took a step closer and look it up and down for a second before glancing over her shoulder in mild shock, “It’s taller than me!” she couldn’t help feeling fascinated however, and rather than say anything else, she walked forward and circled around the truck. It was massive! Of course any car Snow was going to drive would have to be massive because he was a massive guy, but this was just… she’d never seen a car this big. After circling the truck and giving it a quick once over, she reemerged again from the other side of it and walked back to Snow’s side. “You know Lightning isn’t going to be happy with you…” a cheeky smirk accompanied her words as she peeked up at him, “Is it fast?” WORDS: 1028 | TAGGED: Snow | OUTFIT: this | LOCATION: new bodhum | NOTES : oh dese rascals
